Bookish Posts and Books Read of Week of February 12th through February 18th
I hope you all had the best week of LOVE! I was able to take my parents and brother to Titanic and watch it in 3D, and definitely loved it. It was so fun seeing it like that. So if you can do movies in 3D, I highly recommend you try it out in the theatre. Such a classic movie to see in the big screen. If you can believe it it has done more in the box office this past week than the new Avatar since it was released. I am kinda thrilled about that. This week was such a better week of reading than in the laste couple of weeks so it was just nice to get through more books as I wanted to. We have also gotten some warmer temps into the 40’s this week. And yes thats warm for February in Utah. haha
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads, I have linked for you)

Book Read-Twisted by Emily McIntire—Rating 4 Stars—This was such a great one! Its a Aladdin retelling, its dark though as the hero forces the heroine into marriage and plans on killing her after her father dies. Its crazy and intense but delicious! Loved seeing the hero fall so hard for the heroine.
Book Read-Damien by Jacquelyn Frank—Rating 3 Stars—This one was a bit of a disappointment but I still enjoyed the plot quite a bit. The characters were all in for each other, but the writing was just really difficult to get into.
Book Listened-Whispers of You by Catherine Cowles—Rating 4 Stars—This book was just amazing! And it had more focus on suspense which I really LOVED! I really this author is coming into her prime. I do want to try her backlist soon.
Book Read-Ruined Secrets by Neva AltaJ—-Rating 5 Stars—This is a mafia arranged marriage with a mix of a pining heroine. I absolutely adored this book so much! It was delicious. This book was just a representation of why I adore this trope so much. It just was everything. So if you love Mafia, you definitely need to pick this series up.
Book Read-Powerless by Elsie Silver—Rating 4 Stars—This was a great one! Its actually my favorite of the series so far. I had some issues with it though. But I still think this author is overhyped.
Book Review-Rocky Mountain Place by Christine Feehan—-Rating 3.5 Stars—This was such an endearing Christmas romance. It does have a blend of magic to is as the heroine can speak and communicate with animals. This does deal with some PTSD, as the hero and his brother have been abused by their father. But its endearing for the Christmas feels. But the romance itself, kinda felt a bit lacking on this one.
Book Read-Curled Up With An Earl by Amy Rose Bennett–Rating 4 Stars—-This one was so endearing. I finished this one up last night and had a good level of steam for those that like more steam in their historicals.
Book Read-Every Scandalous Secret by Gayle Callen—Rating 4 Stars—I barely finished this one before midnight haha but man this is what I love about this author! If you want a fun witty historical, you definitely need to try out this trilogy! Its based off a nude art model and a trio of rakes trying to find the model. haha

I am finally picking up Man of Honor and really excited to try this author out. Then I gotta keep working on my Aja James, so I have picked up Pure Surrender by Aja James, I have no idea what its about, I am just diving into it. Then my ARC read of the week will be Harmony of Lies. Very excited to see more of Alice and Owen. Then I have a Emma Hart, I have had this in my KU library for a while and I really loved the first two books so very excited to see what happens with this one here.

My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have a rough TBR for, I normally don’t like a super strict TBR as I tend to be a mood reader, so I might get to these books but depending on my mood, I might not get to all of them, but I will endeavor to try with these. I have some great books lined up this week! I have a good mix of contemporary, suspense, erotic and sci fi romance. So definitely have a good week ahead.

How Was This Past Week For You? Any Great Books You Were Able to Pick Up? Let Me Know In The Comments Below!
Sounds like you had a great time with your family. What fun! I have not read a Clayton book in a long while, but they were always amusing. Hope you have another great reading week.
Glad you enjoyed the movie! I can’t do 3D. You always get so many books read each week I am in awe! Have a wonderful week!
I nearly spit my coffee at that cover of Pure Surrender! 🙂 And that’s amazing that Titanic is doing better than Avatar!
The romance covers of your books are eye catching.
I’m a great fan of rom coms myself, and love the humor that some of them have.

Pure Surrender sure has a nice cover. It’s actually been in the 60’s here which was nice.
It is so strange to me to think of Titanic as a classic since it doesn’t seem like it was really that long ago. Time flies. You had a great reading week. I kind of forgot about the Alice Clayton series but I think that I have a couple of them hiding in my Kindle account. Have a great week!
I love the Titanic movie, but it makes me cry ugly tears every dang time.
I had to laugh at “warmer temps in the 40’s” because it’s supposed to be almost 80 here today. I was robbed of any winter this year! I finished Whispers of You yesterday and enjoyed it so, so much. Cowles has become such a favorite over the last year. I can’t wait for Nash’s book to release!
Glad you had a good time with your family. I also read Powerless last week. I really enjoyed it. I don’t think she’s overhyped at all. I’ve read all of her books now and there’s isn’t one I haven’t liked. I just think it’s the everyone is finding her books at the same time. I hope you have a great reading week!
I liked Hard Lovin Man by Lorraine Heath when I read it back in the day. I haven’t read Alexandra Ivy in a while. I used to love her books. Nice week you had.
Titanic was amazing the first time I saw it years ago so I’m glad you enjoyed this revisit in 3D. We had nice warm days in the 40’s last week, too. Yay for getting through a big pile of books and I love seeing the high ratings showing how much you loved them. I see the Gladiator on your TBR. I need to start that series, too.
Have a good week, Lola.
Oo sounds great! And I found soo many new books to add to my TBR! Love your blog💚ì
Your winter temps sound lovely! It’s currently snowing with a high of 32 degrees here, lol. It was nice here last week with highs in the 50s-60s. I guess winter isn’t done with us yet. Nice to hear that you enjoyed the 3D Titanic! And it’s neat that it beat out Avatar. I’ve never seen any of the Avatar movies. Happy reading, Renee!
