Finally Fall Book Tag 2023

by | Oct 9, 2023 | Book Tag | 6 comments

Welcome Ladies and Gents! So today I wanted to kick off the week with something fun and as its fall I wanted to participate in this book tag that I saw from one of my favorite booktubers “Tiff Talks Pages“. So go and check out her answers! Now below I have my answers for this tag and I am sticking with one book for each prompt and it will be books that I have read just this year. I read too much to do reading of all time haha

1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting

There is something so atmospheric about Catherine Cowles, and every time she delivers a book you just can rely on the setting being so vividly portrayed that it comes to life while you read. If I can convince you to read anything, Catherine Cowles needs to be on your list.

2. Nature is beautiful, but also dying: name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

This book is a classic to read and I am sure many of you have read this one. But if you haven’t, you can rely on Jay Crownover to really portray real emotion so well. This book just had the grief come off of the pages in this one and also seeing how different people handle it and react to it.

3. In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.

The Harkner family is the BEST family to become involved in. And I would die to be a part of them. They have such fierce connection to each other, the way that they support one another no matter what is priceless and these characters literally come alive as does their family connections to each other.

4. Fall is back to school season: share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.

I don’t really read non fiction except for religious works, however, this is the closest I get to it with this historical fiction! This book really makes these events come alive and you learn so much from the revolutionary war here. Highly recommend this one so much especially if you enjoy historical events that you don’t see much.

5. The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground: show us a pile of fall-colored spines!

So for this I thought I would share covers that have more fall like colors to them that were some of my favorite reads of the year!! I loved all of these books and highly recommend them all!!!

6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.

I don’t really read anything of this type of description to be honest. But this is the closest that I get to with how this author handles her storytelling and how vivid it is and is so detailed and complex.

7. The nights are getting darker: share a dark, creepy read.

This might be the “creepiest” of books that I think I have read this year. This is a romantic suspense and SO well done. And what a VILLLAIN!! It has many mystery vibes to it and is pretty close to the thriller side of a suspense. The villain is hunting the heroine and anyone that gets close to her. So its pretty creepy and intense! And perfect for this time of year if you haven’t had a chance to pick this one up.

8. The days are getting colder: name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.

This novella was beyond heartwarming. We have such strong medieval vibes, great family dynamics and some heartfelt moments guaranteed to warm those chilly limbs.

9. Fall (luckily, it’s my favourite season) returns every year: name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.

This is a classic romance for me and I would love for this one to back a comeback in the romance community! This is a story that deserves more love, its simply perfection!

10. Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: share your favorite cozy reading “accessories”!

My favorites are my Fall Mugs from Hobby Lobby, My orange knit blanet from Target and some candles for ambience!

Totally agree with the way Cowles can depict a setting so well. I have such vivid visuals of each of her small town settings. 🙂 And I love seeing Rule get some love even though it’s a decade old. I’ve listened to the Marked Men series again and again. It’s like returning to my old friends.

You did a great job with these prompts. Not sure I could find a book for all of them. I forgot that Rule dealt with grief. The brother, right? I read it a long time ago.

I do like the Harkner family but they seem to have a life that is probably more exciting (and dangerous) than I would want. This is a fun tag!

Woohoo to Aja James making it here!! I love this author and I’m so glad you’re loving her work too!! This does seem like a great book tag, and I can’t even imagine how you would go through the horde of books you’ve read or how you narrowed it down to one. I’m a bit jealous lol.

I just snagged a Cowles freebie so I’ll be able to check out her immersive settings. Yes, to the Harkers!

    Fun reading your tag, Renee!
