So today I wanted to do a fun book tag, especially with seeing so much fantasy romance becoming such hits of late, I thought this book tag would be fitting in conjunction with that. The Fantasy Romance Book Tag was originally found at “Tori’s Novel Life” which you can originally see HERE. I really thought that this would be fun and also to share my journey into fantasy as well.
What book got you into fantasy for the first time?
There are two answers to this question. My very first fantasy was a book part of the ‘Dragonlance” series. Now these books are just straight up adult fantasy. I actually loved the Dragonlance books, so much adventure, great Tolkien like world building, and love tales but don’t expect a HEA. The book the got me hooked into fantasy romance is The “Tairen” soul series by C.L. Wilson. I absolutely gobbled up this series. Wilson is one of the best authors for epic fantasy and is so underrated. There was such endearing qualities to this series, I loved the relationship building, the aspects of the world building and the beautiful depths of character growth and what a great villain!!!
If You Could Move To One Fantasy World, which One Would It Be?
If I had to choose out of all the fantasy worlds that I have read, I would have to say that it would be the world from the Chronicles of the Warlands series. I just loved the power that we see from the spirituality and connecting to the elements. It was just so fascinating to me. And I would love to live the life that Lara lives.
If I Could Marry One Hero From Any Fantasy Book, Which Would That Be?
I so LOVED this hero, he was just a great combination of everything you need and love for a fantasy romance hero. He is daring, an alpha, commanding, but also so into the heroine. The way he goes for her, encourages her and sees her capabilities is just so precious!!!
If I Could Be One Magical Creature, What Would It Be?
I would say that it would be, the dragon that is in this book. I just loved her wisdom and mental capabilities and how she connected with the heroine in such a symbiotic type of relationship!!!
If You Could Kill Off One Fantasy Characters, Which One Would It Be?
I will be honest this is the one character in epic fantasy that I have read that I wasn’t a fan of. She was so spoiled and I hated how she was with the hero at times. She was quite simply a brat with him and I had zero interest in her if I am being honest.
Which Fantasy Character Do You Believe Would Be Your IRL Friend?
if I had to choose, it would be Lara from Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan. She was so relatable and I loved her quiet strength and seeing the way she was able to be friends with anyone, I just loved that. She has such a down to earth sweet nature that was contagious and I was so easily drawn to.
What Would Be Your Fantasy Weapon of Choice?
Honestly, I am not into weaponry lol I honestly have no clue. But if I had to choose, the sword here that the hero uses, it was badass!!!!
Who Is The Sexiest Fantasy Character of All Time?
I mean I just loved this warrior of the sea and I adored his triton!!! The way that he is able to command the seas and the imagery of him here in this cover is just perfection!!! Loved it.
Pck One Fantasy Book To Burn. +
Don’t hate me y’all, but I wasn’t a fan haha
You Can Choose 1 Fantasy Book To ReRead Again, Which Book Would It Be? And If You Could Choose One Book To Recommend To A New Aspiring Fantasy Reader?
Oh this is SO SO easy! Warprize of course. As many of you know, if you have been around my blog at all, I absolutely love this book and I could re-read it so many times and never get tired of it. Now why would I recommend this one to a new reader? Because it’s soft fantasy as far as the world building. This has a strong splice-of-life type of feel to it, it has a great setup. The characters are all endearing. Chemistry is sweet and endearing. Low inner relationship angst. And a strong plot line and development without being overwhelming on the world-building. A Wise heroine. A Strong hero and the writing style is very easy to read.
As you can tell from my answers, I tend to be drawn to the underrated type of fantasy. Definitely not the hyped books. So tell me, what fantasy from seeing here my style what would you recommend to me? Keep in mind I am not a SJM fan. Feel free to convey your answer in the comments below!
I tag anyone who loves Fantasy Romance and wants to join in on this fun tag to share your journey into fantasy!
This was fun to read! I’m not really into fantasy, so it gave me ideas of what to try when I want to read some.
I don’t read a lot of (romantic) fantasy (or fantasy for that matter), but I read the series you want to burn. LOL! ACOMAF is still a favorite.
The hero from So I Married a Sorcerer sounds pretty amazing! I hate bratty heroines so I can understand wanting to do away with the one you picked. Like Sam, I rarely read fantasy, but I did love the ACOTAR series. 🙂 But obviously not every book is for every reader.
I like the books you picked for this. Fun post.
I started reading the novella prequels to Throne of Glass and I can tell the series won’t be for me. Such an annoying heroine. Too bad her other series wasn’t a hit for you. I will tell my daughter about Warprize because she loves fantasy reads. I’ll check it out too. Fun tag!
Ouch that hurt seeing you want to burn ACOTAR LOL!
