Can any of you believe that we have already reached the end of September and now we are in the beginnings of October? Its crazy to me haha I just can’t believe that now we are entering the spooky Halloween themed month of October. I am very excited, I just love entering into the Autumn season and all the fun things that come into it. This week was a rougher week of reading, to be honest, I just had a hard time deciding what I wanted to read. I was such a mood reader this week. haha but I did get in some solid reads and tried a new author but I also read some books where the heroines drove me batty! LOL This weekend Hocus Pocus 2 released. To be honest I am not sure I will watch this, I might, but I am not seeing the best reviews of it haha but I might watch the first one tonight!
Bookish Posts and Books Read of Week September 11th through September 17 th
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads, Storygraph and Literal Club)
Book Listened-The Black Lily by Juliette Cross—Rating 3 Stars—I wanted to enjoy this one here but just couldn’t as I had wanted to. The heroine I was disappointed with and it didn’t having a satisfying ending. The world-building and the hero however was *chefs kiss* so it definitely had some of the Juliette Cross magic. I do think these books are too hyped in my opinion.
Book Read-Her Triplet Alphas by Joanna J–2.5 Stars–This was a book I found through an app (DO NOT USE haha) basically I got halfway through and then to actually finish it I would have had to pay $50 and yeah I am not paying that much for a digital book. The only books I pay that much for are first editions or leather-bound religious works. Never fiction though.
Book Listened-A Lot Like Forever by Jennifer Snow–3 Stars—I wanted to love this one, I really did. It had such a great hero who would do anything for his girl. It had great atmospheric Autumn vibes and family bonds. But the heroine basically kept this secret and it’s a big one from the hero for over a year, and then doesn’t take accountability for it and blames the hero and she does little to none of a grovel. So yeah I am surprised I didn’t DNF it, I came close to it. But the ending was sweet just not fully satisfying.
Book Read-Billion Dollar Cowboy by Carolyn Brown-Rating 4 Stars–This was such a solid western romance. I had so much fun with these two doing a fake relationship for the town. It was sweet and spicy. The pacing was a bit slower in the middle, which probably would have gotten to at least 4.5 if it hadn’t been for that.
Book Read-A Corisi Christmas by Ruth Cardello–4 Stars—This was such a delightful novella. So fun to get back to the Corisi family and I adore Judy, she was delightful. I can’t wait for her book, which I hope Cardello someday writes.
Book Read-Dirty Charmer by Emma Chase-4 Stars—This was so entertaining. Emma Chase writes the best humor in her books. I was laughing all over the place. And the hero was such a scoundrel and I loved it. Great dynamic of a grumpy sunshine with the heroine being the grump of sorts. And I liked how it connected to her royal series.

Current Reads
My Current Audiobook is The Warlock King, I don’t know what it was maybe cleaning out my TBR list last week, but I realized I hadn’t finished the series and I really had a blast with the first two books. So after weeks on a waiting list at my library, I finally got it and yeah super excited. And a great way to kick off the October month. Then I am going to read this trilogy today. I have been wanting to, I just wanted to wait until book three was released. After a rougher week of reading, I need some books that I won’t be able to put down.
Book Releases I am Excited For

Never Trust A Living by Lani Lynn Vale
Hallow’s End by Kristen Proby

Final Proposal by K. Bromberg
My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have a rough TBR for, I normally don’t like a super strict TBR as I tend to be a mood reader, so I might get to these books but depending on my mood, I might not get to all of them. So for this week I have some fun books planned ahead here. I am planning on listening to the Alexandria House novel, I have really been loving this series so much. I can’t recommend them enough especially if you looking for more diverse romance but low on the pushed agendas in them. Its just about the romance and solid family ties. I can’t wait for the BB Easton novel, I have been seeing it all over Instagram and need some dark romance, I have been in a mood for it I think. I will also try to listen to Wolf Bride, its due this week and I haven’t read a HR in a while. Then I am hoping to finish off the week with Harvest of SIghs here. Its been forever it feels like since I read a f/f romance, and I am curious to see what happens next for these six friends!

I thought Hocus Pocus 2 was cute. I went in with NO expectations though, and that helped. There were some genuine laugh out loud moments. I have The Black Lily on Audio and have been putting it off.
OMG! I felt the same way about the Snow. Some parts of the story made me angry. You had such a good week. I hope next week is just as good.
I don’t think that I have even seen the first Hocus Pocus. I am so ready to see the leaves change and enter spooky season! I sometimes spend a long time deciding what to read next. I am a bit better now that I create a monthly tbr. I hope that you have a great week!
I am so sad to see the Snow book coming in at 3 stars. Her books are usually good for me. I hope this week brings you more hits.
I listen to reviews of things, but try to read/listen or watch to form my own opinion. The Jones books look good. Hope your week is a good one!
Bummer about annoying heroines! I’ve had a hard time settling on my next read too for some reason. Nothing sounded good, but I found something I’m enjoying now. Hope you do too!
I love October and Halloween! I have never watched Hocus Pocus, the first or the second one. Hope you have a great week!
I can’t believe it’s October already!
LOL, I don’t think I’d get into the second movie since I wasn’t into the first one. I do have a hankering to watch Practical Magic though. Too bad about the annoying heroines in a few of your books. I adored Billion Dollar Cowboy, too. Lately, I haven’t had to hesitate over what to read next, but I do know what you mean. Hope this week’s reading stack goes better for you.
Have a good week, Renee!
I’m glad you got in some good reading. Sorry about the ones with the annoying heroines. Those are the worst! I’m glad the weather in Utah has cooled a bit. I’m excited for it to cool a bit more. Hopefully, the winter stays away for a good long while, though. I’m excited it’s October too. I have some fun spooky, creepy reads in mind. 😀
My Sunday Post
I hate it when I get all moody and can’t decide what to read!
