Recommend It: Cozy Small Town

This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

Today, the feature will be for cozy small-town romance. this has become a more popular setting in recent years and there is something so charming about a solid small town romance especially if it has a more cozy feel to the story. I have also found that I am more in the mood to read these type of books in the Autumn/Fall season. I just love how endearing a small town romance is, there is a sense of connection and community and family bonds that just seem much more impactful in this type of setting than any other setting. Now fair warning this is a bit of a longer list, small town’s are some of my favorites when it comes to reading Contemporary romance.

There is NOTHING more cozy than a KA, especially her small town reads. You can pick any of them and they will work for that vibe. She implements such a great sense of family and community and its so atmospheric.

Melissa Foster writes the best cozy romances, and if you are looking for great cozy small town vibes, you need FOSTER on your reading list. I love the vibe, the setting, the families and how the community just supports each other so well.

This author writes the best small town reads and is super super cozy. Like I just feel like I read her books and it feels like I am being wrapped up in a warm blanket on a cold night with a solid cup of hot cocoa. There is something almost magical about her writing. She writes fade to black, but her books still have such great intimacy.

If you haven’t read this one, you definitely need to. Its set in a Bed and Breakfast from the 1920’s and set on a coastal town. Its fabulously amazing. Its the perfect one to relax into this time of year.

I have recently discovered this author but feel like this series especially deserve a place on this list. These just had the perfect small town cozy vibe to them.

This book was such a beautiful one and honestly the WHOLE series is amazing. Gena Showalter is magic with everything she writes. But these books were just perfect.

This author writes the best coziest romances, and she is NEVER talked about. This was my favorite book from her, it was perfect in every form, from the romance, to the small town community and the way that these two come together just felt right!

Even though this is a romantic suspense, it also has such a cozy feel to the story. Its hard to explain, but it is portrayed in such a solid way and is a true classic for a reason.

In this one, and really all the books in this series and this whole world that this author has created, is the BEST small town vibe. They are paranormal romances,

There is something so magical about this book, I absolutely adored how Kleypas wrote these and the small coastal town feel to these. There is a mystical feeling to them that matches the setting.

Anyone that has read this, knows that the small town VIBES are just perfection in these books. And there is nothing cozier to read than this whole series if I am being honest. I kinda wish I read these in fall, because they fit the season so well. You have atmospheric setting in Alaska, spicy tension, and highly remote small town.

Jill Shalvis is a queen in writing cozy small towns, although fair warning sometimes her books can be slow reading. (the audiobooks are spectacular though). But she writes all the most atmospheric novels. This one is a top fave of mine from her.

Emma Chase knows how to write ANY setting, but her small town’s are pure magic! There is so much humor, great connection and swoony!

Such a charming and sweet romance we have here with plenty of spice. Its a return to hometown trope, with a mix of a foodie theme to the romance and the hero is a farmer!

Now this one is a CLASSIC of a romance. Its a bit old school as it was written in the 1990’s, and does have older language but the setting and the romance is brilliant and perfect for lovers of small town romances .

Janet Chapman writes the best atmospheric settings and set up’s between pairings. And she implements the best HUMOR! She mixes in magic and time travel in with her stories, and this series we even see some demi gods so its different but a blast!

Now if you are going to read any on this list for audio narration, and yes if you are going to read these books please do it in audio, it’s BRILLIANT! These are set in a small town near the Bayou, with magic and all the fun times you can expect from a small-town romance.

This is such a beautifully built romance, and does handle some taboo issues so check the content warnings, but this is one of those reads that is worth ALL of its hype.

So tell me what do you love the most about Cozy Small Town Romances? Have you read any from my list here? What are some of your top favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

Maybe We Will and Sleigh Bells Ring were wonderful. You should try Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry.

There are so many good ones on your list! MQ, Shalvis, Chase, Kleypas, Tucker, Clayton… All so good! I would also recommend the Havenbrook series by Brighton Walsh, Jamieson Valley by Devney Perry, and Cloverleigh Farms by Melanie Harlow. I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting. I’m going to have to try out some of the ones on here I haven’t read yet. Great list!

Port Snow is one my favorite small towns. I wish it was real! That series is great too. I still have the 3rd book to read (yes, I read out of order).
