Recommend It is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I have actually received such great feedback for this weekly post, so I will be doing this weekly. I am so excited as I always have such great recommendations as I read all over the genre and my hope is that I can share recs that are for all the sub-genres if I can! The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope, or character type. If you have a trope or theme or character type you want me to put at the top of my list, I have a form that I have created that will just automatically upload into my spreadsheet and I will put it at the top of my list! I feel like as book bloggers, reviewers, readers, we all have great lists to share and this is what I hope I can do for any who want to expand their horizons in the romance genre.

So today with it being the 2nd of December, I thought I would share my top picks for Christmas. So for this week, I am doing historical recommendations of Christmas romances. This is where its common to see Christmas house parties, and more traditions being followed.

I recently read this LeVeque and has so many family vibes and celebrating Christmastime in a medieval castle. So many heartwarming feels. Kelly’s book is very wonderful for winter vibes. After the Abduction takes place in winter and around Christmastime and is superb. Mackenzie Family Christmas is a book that I love to reread each other. I love Ian and Beth and so fun seeing the family get together. Lecia Cornwall writes such warmhearting holiday stories. And if you want a book that is sexy and festive then Adrienna Basso is an author to be on your list.

Snowy Night is a beautiful anthology and one of my favorites for Christmas time. Loved The Present, so many family reveals and adds depth to the Malory Family and their Romani heritage. A Season of Seduction I love to read because well the stepback so I had to share. And it has some fun Christmas traditions and themes to it. A McKettrick Christmas has all the great messaging you can expect in a endearing Christmas romance. And Deck the Halls with Love is a warm and poignant novella.

Victoria Alexander has written some of my favorites. My highest recommendation is “A Visit from Sir Nicholas” its so endearing, and really focused on the “Christmas Carol”. Gifts of Christmas is technically historical as it takes place in the 1940’s in Australia. Linda Broday I read last year and it was really wonderful. Mimi Matthews wrote such a captivating Christmas themed romance, and is very atmospheric. So highly recommend it and its only 99 cents on Amazon right now.

I have been reading a ton of holiday books since the summer, but these are all new to me. This is a great topic because holiday books always make me happy. Recent favorites are Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Faking Christmas by Kerry Winfrey.

I don’t think I’ve read any historical Christmas romances, but that doesn’t surprise me. I usually stick to contemporaries. My recent favorites there are Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne, Christmas Cupid by Ilsa Madden-Mills, and Merry Pucking Christmas by Kelly Jamieson. Thanks for the recs for HR holiday novels!
