Recommend It: Fae Creatures

Recommend It is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I have actually received such great feedback for this weekly post, so I will be doing this weekly. I am so excited as I always have such great recommendations as I read all over the genre and my hope is that I can share recs that are for all the sub-genres if I can! The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope, or character type. If you have a trope or theme or character type you want me to put at the top of my list, I have a form that I have created that will just automatically upload into my spreadsheet and I will put it at the top of my list! I feel like as book bloggers, reviewers, readers, we all have great lists to share and this is what I hope I can do for any who want to expand their horizons in the romance genre.

So today our topic for the day is going to be Fae Creatures These you will see most commonly in fantasy. I do love see fae like creatures though, they add something more to a story. Now keep in mind that I am not sharing the super hyped books as most readers are aware of the more popular ones.

The Dark King by Maxwell is a delightful read. Its a mix of a fantasy in our world in the contemporary setting. Its set in Las Vegas and very intriguing. One Fine Fae is a bit different as it has a more paranormal romance feel to it and not fantastical but its Molly Harper so you know that its well done. Then we have Savage Lands. This is more of a UF romance that is set in eastern europe. Its very rich in atmosphere and a bit darker but definitely leaves you on the edge of your seat. Goblins and Gold is a indie fantasy romance with a competition and fighting for family and winning over a Goblin king.

Guadian’s Mate is a PNR but there is fae in the world building and its really fascinating how the author has crafted this series. Ever After is a fairytale retelling and super neat and action packed. The Darkest Craving is such a badass story where our heroine is the fae character. Thea Harrison you just know will deliver a great story and I had a blast with Storm’s Heart. Black Magic Woman has the hero being half fae.

The Devilin Fey was a indie romance I read like a decade ago so I would be surprised if anyone heard of it but it was a really cool story. Edith Layton’s book will probably shock some readers as its a historical haha but the hero is a fae prince living among human. Its a marriage of convenience setup and really neat. Its my favorite Edith Layton. Basket of Wishes has such a magical theme to it. Donna Grant has quite a few fae characters that come into her PNR world that she has created. The Tairen soul series is superb in every way. Its honestly my favorite fantasy romance series. So if love anything romantasy READ THIS SERIES. The hero is a fey king.

There are some great, magical covers up there. Not sure I have read too many adult romances featuring fae , though, I put ACOMAF in that category. The closest I get after that, is The Iron Fey series which is YA but lots of fairies.

I haven’t read any of these. I’m trying to think if I have read romances with fae creatures. I know I read some YA books by Maggie Stiefvator with fae that were good, but those are the only ones that come to mind! I guess I need to branch out more.

I do enjoy books with good fae characters. I need to check out the C.L. Wilson and Donna Grant series since I have loved their other work.

Yes read CL Wilson is one of my favorites especially for fantasy. So if you haven’t read the Tairen soul books, you NEED to. Its probably the best romantasy series I have ever read

I need to read the CL Wilson books. I love the way Patricia Briggs writes the fae as darker and dangerous. I enjoyed the KM Moning series for that reason, too.

I’ve not read a lot with fae but I’ve enjoyed what I have. Most recently I read the prequel novella of a fae series by Sawyer Bennett. It has me excited to start the series.
