This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I have actually received such great feedback for this weekly post, so I will be doing this weekly. I am so excited as I always have such great recommendations as I read all over the genre and my hope is that I can share recs that are for all the sub genres if I can! The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type. If you have a trope or theme or character type or even time era you want me to put at the top of my list, I have a form that I have created that will just automatically upload into my spreadsheet and I will put it at the top of my list! I feel like as book bloggers, reviewers, readers, we all have great lists to share, and this is what I hope I can do for any that want to expand their horizons in the romance genre. Now if you follow me on instagram, you will see that I do the same topic in “Trope Tuesday”. While its the same theme, I always add something more in this post and something more in the instagram post. So whether you follow me on here or through social media, you will get some great recommendations that I want to share.

So today my pick for the week is “Industrial England”. This is a time era set in England, and this is books that are featured in the years ( 1820-1837). So what is this time period in England? This is where England was suffering from some economic downfall and where improvements were being made on a industrial level. This also brought in the end of slavery, seeing the child labor laws being adjusted and recognition of the unions on a legal scale. Its actually one of my favorite time periods in England to read in especially for the Victoria era. I know it can be confusing. Think of it like this, The Industrial period is a micro period within the major time period of the Victorian era.

top picks

This is a story that features a bit of a love triangle. I know I know, we all hate the love triangles, but its super fleshed out and so well done. And currently its only 99cents!!! So if you love HR, you should grab it up, I just adore this author! The set up is where the heroine

I absolutely adored this book, and the hero is involved in a factory so you see the industrial aspects really well. And Simon Hunt is one of the most underappreciated heroes by Kleypas. I actually like him as much as Sebastian.

This is the ONLY PNR on this list. If you love vampires, then I can’t recommend this one enough or the second book, but I do think you will enjoy these books if you read them in order. It features two sisters. And there is so many spooky vibes and intrigue to this one. Simply fabulous!

Anne Gracie is one of my favorites especially if you are looking for more authentic historical’s. In this one we have a marriage of convenience. This also deals with some caretaking as well and a bit of class difference. Definitely well done and one of my favorites from this author! And also it has such lyrical writing and loved the way these two banter with each other. The heroine is so serious all the time, and the hero is such a rake haha but he also is so sweet with her. Its adorbs!

This is such a unique one and one you don’t find often in HR. We have a solid astrology focus in the story as well as a tortured heroine, and a fling type of a relationship. Highly recommend and plus the cover is so wonderful. Avon did such a great job with them.

This book *sigh* is purely magical. One of my favorites that this author has created and its a romantic treasure so you know it has a delectable stepback. This story features some indiana jones vibes as this deals with some antiques and history. Really loved the adventurous vibes to the story and the way that our hero and heroine interact with each other.

This is such a fun story, and this series is very authentically victorian setting. I adored this one because it has such unique elements. The hero needs to get married, and thinks he knows who his wife will be but then ends up in a mistaken identity situation which creates a scandal and marries the sister of his intended (its pretty entertaining).

This is another romantic treasure (aren’t the covers so delightful?) This is Karen Ranney so you know it will be a fun one. This is one of her standalones, so you can easily read this on your own. There are some fun dynamics in this one here where the hero is a rogue and the heroine is a governess. Highly recommend this one if you love governess themes.

If you like historical romances but prefer some great humor or more of a romantic comedy feel to it, then you definitely should pick up this author. This book was so delightful and literally couldn’t stop laughing. Its flirty and fun and some great scenarios this couple ends up in!

This series is part of the Effington family series by this author. And if I can encourage you to read anything by this author, this series is a MUST. This features a royal connection. The hero is a prince, and this is a cinderella retelling. So it has a mix of secret identity and finding the girl he fell for at the ball haha Its fabulous!

You just had to know I would be bringing some sexy espionage to the table haha I LOVE me some spies in historical’s and if you haven’t read Tina Gabrielle, you should. She tends to write characters that aren’t as commonly written and has such an endearing flair to the writing style.

If you like a story more sensual and with more focus on the erotic style, then I recommend this one here. I have found that Emma Holly writes the steam so well and really balances out the story so well. Also if you like authors like Charlotte Featherstone or Sierra Simone, then I recommend this one to you!

If you would like to give me your requests for what type of recs you would like in a recommend it post, I have a link HERE so that I can put them at the top of the line!

So what do you think of my recommendations for “Fling Romances”? What are some of your favorites that I need to add to my TBR? Let me know in the comments below!

Interesting time period you selected. I think the closest I got to this with my reading were some Steampunk books
