Recommend It: Barbarian Heroes

This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

So today I want to share the warlord/barbarian heroes. There is something about barbarian heroes that end up really working for me. I just love seeing these type of heroes if I am being honest and wish there was more of these out there. So if you know of any that aren’t on this list let me know in the comments below!

This is such a solid read, in fact one of my personal favorites. Its a sci fi romance, with a arranged marriage/marriage of convenience. The heroine marries a warlord leader from a desert planet and it was so fascinating to see her adapt to a different culture.

This book is set in the time of the Wales rebellion against England, and it was awesome! I loved the rich history and the culture that is described! Its also a story that you won’t be able to put down.

Out of all the barbarian romances I have read, this is one of the BEST ones I have ever picked up. It has that classic KA style, epic fantasy setting and just has such a beautiful romance. Although be aware of the beginning scene. Its non consent.

*sigh* this book just makes me happy thinking about. This was one of the best books I have EVER read, and if you are a fantasy read, this is an author that you MUST read. But the hero is a barbarian type warlord, but this has full consent, there are some cultural misunderstandings, but their story is so endearing and captivating.

This was one of my more recent reads, and I absolutely adored this one here. It was so amazing, and has such a vibe in it that kinda reminded my of Johanna Lindsey sci fi books. So if you loved that series, you should be picking this author up.

Warrior’s Woman is so wonderful, I absolutely adored the hero and he is such a good barbarian and I do think for some readers this book can still be read today more than many of her other historical’s.

This was such a great medieval read and you definitely get all that historical authenticity and these are such classics. So if you haven’t read these, you need to pick them up.

Josie Litton wrote such brilliant reads with these two books in one! I absolutely loved these as a good viking romance and just so well done with the setting and making the story come alive.

If you love viking romance, then you definitely need to grab this one up. The characters just come alive and Catherine Coulter definitely knows how to write her barbarians.

this was such a unique read, I adored the SETTING so much, its set in a place between the Middle East and India and so well done. The author really captures barbarians so well.

I like this new feature. I like posts that show me books I should get and I haven’t read any of these.

haha yeah I am sure some people will think that. But I have read those books and they don’t have the “barbarian” vibe to them. They are way too beta lol Barbarians are more alpha.

I enjoy a good ‘barbarian-style’ story now and then. I’ve got the Warprize books on my list for some point.

The only barbarian heroes I could think of were the Ice Planet Barbarian ones and I loved them!

I’ve never read a book with a Barbarian hero. I do have Transcendence by Shay Savage on my TBR but I’m not sure if the hero is considered a barbarian.
