The festive Christmas season is one of my favorites of the year. I know for some, especially as adults, it can be highly stressful and super commericialized. It has its issues that is for sure. But what I love most about the Christmas season, is the spirit of Christmas, the generousity that comes out of us naturally, and the cozy feeling of the sense of family and friends and see the worth in others and the miracles that can happen more this time of year than any other time. I thought it would be fun to celebrate it with this fun book tag that I found at Callum McLaughlin blog with a fun bookish Christmas tag.
Now for this book tag, as many of you know I have read LOTS of good books over the years, but I am a prolific reader, so we will stick with books I read only in 2022.
Father Christmas: Name a book you received as a Child that you treasure this day
This book is the most precious book that I have! Its such a classic for me and just gives me all the feels every time I look at it!
The Ghost of Christmas Past: Is there a book or series that you like to revisit each year this time of year?
This is one of the most festive Christmas books that I have ever read. I love reading this every year. Its romantic, sweet, and so atmospheric for the Christmas season and has such strong connections to “The Christmas Carol”.
Christmas Tree: Name a series that reaches new heights with every entry
Dark Whisper, is part of the Carpathian series, and is simply magnificent. I absolutely love the growth of the world building, the serial archs that just add so much more depth to the series. I know its a LONG series, BUT the way that the author has built it over the years has been such a journey. And don’t you all love this cover? It has such a Doctor Zhivago vibe.
Friends and Family: Name a book with fantastic characters
Dark Redemption is part of a series by Aja James. And one of the many things that I admire about this author is the way in which she writes her characters. She has the BEST cast of characters I have read in a long while! If you love PNR or Fantasy, you definitely need to check this one out.
Decorations: Name a book with a gorgeous cover you would proudly display on your shelves
Christmas Cards: Name a book that carries a great message
There is such a strong sense of family in this one, and the way that they stand by each other. Samantha Young has written such a powerful sense of connection in these books!
Ice and Snow: Name a book that you were hoping to love but ultimately leave you feeling out in the cold
These were books that I sincerely wanted to love so much, but unfortunately they just didn’t work for me. Some I think I either had high hopes for or they were too hyped.
Christmas Lunch: Name a book that was big and intimidating but oh so worth it in the end
This has such length in the audio narration, it is at 16 hours, so it definitely has more length to it but is such a great read and definitely delivers that satisfying ending!
Presents: Name a book that you wish you could give everyone to read
Spreading the Christmas Cheer: Tag a book friend to participate in the book tag
Anyone come and join in!!
Yes, that was a fun Christmas tag and seeing what books you picked. The Pam Godwin cover does capture the attention and I am eager to read that Rosanne Bittner one.
Merry Christmas, Renee!
