Bookish Posts and Books Read of Week of September 10th through September 17th
This week was a pretty solid week! Nothing spectacular happened, it was more of a steady strong week but some aspects of my weekly TBR went completely out of the window though as I ended up reading books that had cliffhangers so of course I had to read the conclusions. on them. But I had a strong week of 10 books read. Our capets got cleaned this week which was so nice. I love carpet cleaning. Especially once you get everything dried and aired out. Great way to kick off the fall season.
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads, I have linked for you)

Book Read-A Texan’s Luck by Jodi Thomas—Rating 2 Stars—This book almost became a DNF. I really had a hard time with this one here. It’s probably the most toxic book that I have read in a historical in a long while. The heroine is just awful and the way that she treats the hero was abusive but also confusing. Still excited for the finale though.
Audio Book Read-Top Secret by Sarina Bowen + Elle Kennedy—Rating 5 Stars—WHAT A BOOK! Yeah, I loved this one. It was angsty, delicious, and hilarious. what is it about this author team in how much they just deliver 100% on their books? They need to get together way more often.
Audio Book Read-Cowboy, Cross My Heart by Donna Grant—Rating 4 Stars—This was a blast. It was a great suspense. The plot was so well written and I adored the way that it was written in a way that just pulled you into this family and the suspense aspects. If you love romantic suspense, I highly recommend it.
Book Read-Be With Me by Maya Banks-–Rating 4 Stars—This was probably the first reverse harem I loved. But I think I would only trust Maya Banks to write it correctly. I loved how well this relationship between all 4 characters was developed. So refreshed reading a RH that wasn’t about the sex. It was about their connection and the relationship aspects and as a bonus—-fabulous suspense plot!
Audio Book Read-Connected in Pain by Ryan Michele—Rating 4 Stars—This was a book I thought was a standalone, but ended in a cliffhanger and I had to do this trilogy with audio because it had Jeremy York narrating it. Those of you narrator fans, know how addicting his audiobooks can be. I really enjoyed seeing the beginning of it and the connected with Crow and Cruz.
Audiobook Read-Fueled in Fire by Ryan Michele—-Rating 4 Stars—This carries on where our heroine goes with our hero Crow, when a truth is revealed and he is devastated. And she works with him to help him emotionally work through the shocks and secrets. The heroine in these books were awesome! How she understands the MC world, accepts her place within it and works within the boundaries that women have and is so understanding with the hero and what he needs was beautiful. I loved her stregnth mixed with caring heart and compassion.
Audiobook Read-Sealed in Strength by Ryan Michele—-Rating 4 Stars—This is the stunning conclusion to Crow and Raylynn and I adored how this one was written. Such great intrigue and suspense and really kicks ass.
Book Read-Delinquent Daddy by Linda Kage—Rating 2 Stars—This book was awful! One of the worst secret baby romances I have ever read. The reasons that the heroine had were not enough because the source of the reason was her lack of trust in the hero so it was just an excuse not to do the right thing. The only redeeming quality of this one is the relationship between the daughter and the hero. It was adorable.
Book Read-Batter Up by Brittany Ann—Rating 4.5 Stars—-This was a brilliant mafia/baseball romance here. It’s definitely not what you would expect it to be but really enjoyed our couple here and I am learning to love how this author writes romance. It does end in an awful cliffhanger. So just have book 2 ready to go.
Book Read-Swing Batter, Swing by Brittany Ann—Rating 4 Stars—This conclusion was much more angstier than I expected and to be honest I was hoping for a more satisfying ending for this couple. It was so heartwrenching reading this one but definitely had me on the edge of my seat and all in my feels.
Current Reads
My current audiobook is Nobody’s Baby But Mine and I am very excited for this one. I have just loved this series so far. This author writes the best rom com’s and it has such feelings of nostalgia to it. My current ebook that I am about to start is Montana Lone Rider. This author is very new to me but I saw some beautiful instagram edits for this book so of course I am grabbing it up. Plus I love a good western. Then I will be grabbing up Rome by Jay Crownover and I am very excited for this. Kinda sad I wasn’t able to get to this one this week. I got the ARC of Dark Memory by Christine Feehan and very excited to pick it up. I have really enjoyed this latest serial arc in the series. I finally got the libby copy of Double Time. This ebook is super expensive, so I decided to wait on the library copy. (someone please explain why ebook copies of books are more expensive than the printed?)

My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have for what I term a flexible TBR shelf for the week. As some of you know, I have been working on switching from being a mood reader to a TBR reader where I just work around a flexible weekly TBR. This week my focus is a blend of working on series I am working through.

None This Week!
I hate cliff hangers! At least you had the next book available, so you didn’t have to wait too long. Rome! It’s been a long time, but he was my favorite Marked Man
I should do a lot of cleaning Renee because everything feels nice after only.. I lack the energy to be honest π
Half the time I get books with cliffhangers they are just being published and so I have to wait a year for the next one to come out, lol. Looks like you had a lot of great books though. Hope you have a good week!

Yay for clean carpets. My allergies are so bad we had to get rid of all the carpet years ago. I can’t handle it.
I loved The Year We Fell Down and that entire series. It was so good. I hope you do as well.
What a coincidence! I cleaned my carpets this weekend, too. π
Way to go getting through the ten books! I’ll have to check out Top Secret based on how much you loved it.
Hooray for a week of good reading (despite a couple duds). I really enjoyed Top Secret. Bowen never disappoints me. π The Year We Fell Down was another good one.
It is nice to have a cleaned carpet! Feels like an nice refresh for fall! Bummer about the Kage book. I guess not every book written by an author will work. I’ve had duds from my favorite authors too.
Oh, yes! I’d want to read the next book if it was a cliffhanger too! Nice that you had access to finish it up. Looks like you had a great reading week, Renee! π
