Bookish Posts and Books Read of Week of August 20th through August 26th
This week was such a solid week for me. It was my vacation week. So I basically started doing classes for BYU Education week in the mornings, chilled at some coffee houses and took some drives up the mountains which was super fun. I also did some self-care with some spa treatments, so I really treated myself. I also got plenty of books read. Like I knew I would get so many read but wow I don’t think I have read this much in one week since my first few years of blogging (some of you might remember back then I was reading 2-3 books per day haha) So this past week I got up to 16 books read! Holy Moly haha And honestly, I had some BIG books that I picked up so… but despite that I had a fabulous week even if I did some rereading, but I got another reader hooked on the Outlaw Hearts series, so I am feeling like a proud mama haha
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads, I have linked for you)

Book Read-A Joyous de Wolfe Christmas —Rating 5 Stars—This was such a fun novella. I had a blast with it. It connects to both DarkWolfe and Shadowolfe. So if you have read either of those books by this author, highly recommend this fun novella.
Book Read-DarkWolfe by Kathryn Le Veque—Rating 4 Stars—This was such a interesting story but it had one of my favorite tropes and I love that the relationship conflict was kept minimal for the beginning. This couple really resolves their issues early on. And I always get a kick out of reading this author. I really need to get going on reading more of her.
Book Read-Believing Bailey by Linda Kage—Rating 4 Stars—Absolutely adored this book. It was so fun even if it was a bit different. I really loved it in its own way. Linda Kage always delivers solid books for me.
ARC Book Read-Bad Luck Vampire by Lynsay Sands—Rating 4 Stars—What a fun book this turned out to be. If you are fans of this series or this author, you will definitely enjoy this one here. The bad luck themes to the book were quite entertaining.
Book Read-Breathe for Me by Brittany Ann—Rating 5 Stars—This is basically a dark cowboy romance and its AWESOME! I loved everything about this book and more. The tension, the angst, the dark alpha male and spirited heroine all make for a great combination.
Book Read-Sing for Me by Brittany Ann—Rating 4 Stars—This book was just as good but the reason I gave it a slightly lower rating is the emotional turmoil that is in the book. It was really draining and just dragged on too much with this couple. It was more realistic though in learning to recover from trauma but it most definitely wore on me which thus affected my rating unfortunately.
Book ReRead-Outlaw Hearts—Rating 5 Stars—I loved this one of course it was a reread when a good instagram friend of mine is reading this series and she is loving them. But when it was fun to get back to the roots of Jake and Randy.
Book ReRead—Do Not Forsake Me by Rosanne Bitter—Rating 5 Stars—What can I say I loved this one and buddy reading it was a blast to reconnect with this family.
Book ReRead—-Love’s Sweet Revenge by Rosanne Bittner—Rating 5 Stars—I had forgotten what this book does to me. I loved their journey though and the focus on the kids and a bit on their journey and how strong this family is. I think that is what I love the most about this series other than the epic love between Jake and Randy, is how united this family is through the good and bad times.
Book ReRead—The Last Outlaw by Rosanne Bittner—Rating 5 Stars—This is always a tough one to read because of the emotional conflict Randy has to overcome but also whast happens in the third act and what it does to Randy and the whole family.
Book Read-Rule by Jay Crownover—Rating 4 Stars—Absolutely had a fun time with this one. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing how it grows.
Book Read-Illicit Heir by Maggie Cole—Rating 1 Star—Yeah I didn’t like this one at all. It was such a disappointing read for me. And definitely should have been better as I know this author is capable of it.
Book Read-The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura—Rating 5 Stars—Absolutely loved this book here. It was amazing and well worth all the hype. I haven’t seen it much around the blogging sphere though, but booktube and bookstagram its just about everywhere. And it most definitely worked for me.
Book Read-Mine to Kiss by Natasha Madison—Rating 3 Stars—I wanted to love this one but I hated the ending but it had a sweet love story in it.
Book Read-Stay by Sarina Bown + Elle Kennedy—Rating 4.5 Stars—What a great book this one is. Not as good as Good Boy or the Him books, BUT it was entertaining, sexy and fun to read and so many laughs. But man I am going to miss Blake so much.
Book Read-Mine to Have by Natasha Madison—Rating 3.5 Stars—This was my first full length novel by this author and while it was a likeable story, it didn’t quite get executed as I was hoping for. And there were many grammar issues that really threw me off and that could have been part of the problem. I will try two more books from this author before I decide if she is worth sticking with or not. I do love these covers haha so I would really like one of them to end up being a keeper.

Recommend It: Avon True Romance
Current Reads
I am just now starting Crossed by Emily McIntire and this is definitely going to be a taboo romance. But it will be good to finally read this one. Then I have the baseball duo with K. Bromberg and I hear its fabulous so I can’t wait for these and I am such a Bromberg fan, she just has writing that just works for me so well. The Texan’s Wager I am doing as a buddy read with a fellow bookstagrammer and very excited for it. It should be a blast of a good time. Then I received an ARC the other day from Veronica West so I am very eager to get to Throttled its a M/M racing romance and very eager for it. I saw their chemistry in the duo series I read from this author recently so this one will be fun haha

My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have for what I term a flexible TBR shelf for the week. As some of you know, I have been working on switching from being a mood reader to a TBR reader where I just work around a flexible weekly TBR. For this week I have a great balance of sub genres including getting my readalong reads completed.

None this Week!
I can see that you had a great week Renee! And I love reading but these days I read one book in two or three days! So the amount you read is mind bogling!
Sounds like you did a lot of great stuff during your time off. I loved the Marked Men books. It’s a been a while since I read them, but Rome was my favorite.
Glad you got in a relaxing vacation that will relax and recharge you. Sixteen! whistles appreciatively Yay for converting another Jake and Randy fan.
Have a great week, Renee!
Yay for Rule! I’m glad you liked it. That series is one that is good and some of them stand out more than others, but overall good. I am also happy to see you enjoyed the last WAGs book. I wish Bowen and Kennedy would have continued the series, but at least you still have Top Secret to read.
Wow, 16 books in one week? That’s amazing! Sounds like you’ve had a nice staycation. I love those! So chill and relaxing.
Loved Rule and I’m looking forward to Bad Luck Vampire!
You are like a reading machine! I don’t read fast enough to ever get through that many in a single week but it is great that you were able to enjoy so many. Yay for re-reading the Outlaw Hearts series. It sounds like you had a great time off of work.
What a great week to focus on yourself. Good for you. All all that reading you did… I think my jaw dropped. lol I really enjoyed Crownover’s Marked Men series. I’ve listened to the entire series at least 3-4 times on audio. I love those characters. 🙂
