Bookish Posts and Books Read of Week of August 13th Through August 19th
This past week was pretty rough. And my reading really suffered this week. First off I experienced some major hosting issues and it took days to get the server back up and and I spent endless hours trying to get it resolved. I honestly came close to just giving up because my hosting was being such a pain. haha But thankfully I got it figured out…eventually by almost the end of the week. I appreciate all of you that reached out personally to make sure I was alright. Now as for my reading this week, it was really good even if it wasn’t that many books. Pretty much all my books were 4 or 5 stars. And one of my MOST ANTICIPATED READS of the year I was able to pick up. This Rosanne Bittner was BRILLLIANT and just epic! If you love Jake and Randy, you will adore this fabulous addition to the series. But I am excited that my vacation has started. I might do some classes at the BYU Education Week conference, but other than that I am going to relax, renew, spend some quality time in the mountains and get some reading done, and I even have a date with the spa and of course planning on getting some fabulous books read.
(All my books read and their reviews are on Goodreads, I have linked for you)

Book Read-Loving Lies by Linda Kage—Rating 5 Stars—I adored this book in every way. I have a feeling it will be my favorite of the series. I just couldn’t get enough of this one here. I also adored the way in which this one was built on. I am really enjoying this trilogy from this author. And the premise of this one was fabulous. And I enjoyed seeing aftereffects of the school shooting and how it affected the whole community in different ways.
Book Read-Bound by Wreckage by Ryan Michele—Rating 4 Stars—This was a wonderful read, and I had a blast with this one. It does deal with some difficult issues but really enjoyed how it was all resolved in the end. And is probably one of my more favorite installments of the series so far.
Book Re-Read via Listen-Surrender to the Devil by Lorraine Heath—Rating 5 Stars—I had so much fun with Frannie’s book and even though its not the best of the series, its still a fabulous one. And the narration was just wonderful.
Book Read-True Colors by Thea Harrison—Rating 4 Stars—This was a delightful novella to such a fun series. I really enjoyed the premise. And it was fun getting back to this author.
Book Read-Shadow Trail by Rosanne Bittner—Rating 5 Stars—I adored this book and is going to be my top read of the year! It was so much fun returning to Jake and Randy. And I loved seeing the historical connection that ties these two together in ways I never expected. Bittner did a fabulous job and if you love historical westerns, this series MUST be on your list to read.

Current Reads
This is my current lineup for the weekend. I am listening to An American In Scotland by Karen Ranney and its really delightful so far. I am enjoying the narrator and I got this for a audible deal. I have Dark Wolfe by Kathryn Le Veque in ebook and really enjoying this. This ties in with another Le Veque I read recently and I am very eager for the brother’s book in a tragedy that hit them both. I have been seeing Breathe for Me by Brittany Ann all over instagram so I had to just add to my read list here. I have really been in a western mood of late (not that I am complaining haha ). Then I have Mine to Have by Natasha Madison in my queue as I wasn’t able to get to it last week. Then we also have Crossed by Emily McIntire. I am not sure why I have been putting this one off, probably because I have heard mixed things about this one but I have had a blast with this series and really would love to see how she handled this retelling.

My Weekly TBR
These are books that I have for what I term a flexible TBR shelf for the week. As some of you know, I have been working on switching from being a mood reader to a TBR reader where I just work around a flexible weekly TBR. For this week I have a great balance of some contemporary, dark, NA, HR and a dose of PNR.

Love the book choices. This is my first time to your blog and I lov ethe template. See you at sunday post.
That hosting thing would freak me out too! I’m so not smart about that stuff that I’m so glad I have someone else taking care of all that for me. I totally recommend the K. Bromberg books on your possible TBR, I loved that series! Hope you have a better week!

I was wondering what was going on with your site. I tried to log on to catch up last week and I couldn’t get on. Sorry to hear you had trouble! That’s so frustrating! Happy you got it all sorted. I would like to read Loving Lies at some point as I loved the first one, but there’s no audio and it’s so hard to fit books just traditionally reading.
I’m looking forward to Back Luck Vampire! Looking forward to your thoughts.
Hope you enjoy your vacation! Spending time in the mountains sounds delightful! I hope you post some pictures! 🙂
I wondered where you were last week! Glad the problem is resolved. I hate internet/blog/hosting/tech issues. They are so beyond me. Yay for loving your anticipated read. I love when that happens.
Also, I opened the Shadow Dance eARC and what did I find on the first page? A quote from you!!!
Hosting issues are the worst! I’m glad you got it figured out.
Sounds like a nightmare week with the hosting, but glad you worked it out. Yay for the new Roseanne Bittner being lights out fab.
Have a wonderful vacation week, Renee!
Ouch! Hosting issues suck!! I’m sure I’ll suffer something when my Google domain moves to Squarespace.
I hope your vacay is everything you want it to be xoxo
So glad the hosting issues got sorted out. I had left a reply to you on a comment you made on Sophie’s blog but wasn’t sure if you would see it or not. She said she was going to contact you you Insta to pass on our messages. 🙂 I hope you’ll love Stay! I’m so sad that Bowen/Kennedy do not plan to continue the WAGs series.
I am so glad that your server problem are behind you Renee!
Sorry you were having such issues. Glad you got to enjoy some good books.
