Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: Best Winter Reads of 2018

So since we have the winter season starting to warm up to the spring season (Yay for warmer weather) and even though I do love the snow, we hardly got any of it so bring on the warm weather. But I did want to share with you all my favorite books I have read during this winter season for this year because there have been so many amazing books. So what books are simply wonderful?? Well Let me tell you that there have been some amazing books that I had such a pleasure in reading. Its always a great omen when you begin the year with some solid reads and with the weather so cold at times, its perfect to settle inside with a warm fire, a cup of tea and a good book and these are all that I highly recommend picking up.

I have been in love with this author for years, but I have to say she impressed me with this one. I never thought that she would breach out to the MC but she does and when she wrote this and I read it, I found it to be brilliantly written. One of the best MC romances I have ever read and it takes place near one of my favorite settings. And yeah its one of the best reads of the year so far and I am thinking to do a re read….hmmmm

This is one of the most emotionally riveting books I have ever read, its very intense and there are some triggers that may not be for everyone. But I am so relieved that we have an author that was willing to go this route especially with all the school shootings that have been happening all over the world (not just in the U.S., but many in Great Britain, Canada and Europe) This book features a group that survived a school shooting and they have all come back together and boy I can’t wait for book two because I am sure it will be just as amazing as this one.

This was a group of books that even though there was some drama….I fell in love with these two and we have four books that feature this same couple and boy there are so many depths to their relationship that I was just drawn into, and yes that Narrator really brought these characters slive for me. And plus I can never resist a sexy race car driver…yummy!!

I ADORED this book so very much, and quite frankly I don’t know why I ever doubt Lorraine Heath, because her books always seem to work for me. (my dream is to meet this author one day) but I do love how she handled some tough issues of the baby farms and handled it so delicately since this is a tough topic to cover for a romance but it balances out well with all the other aspects of the story. I do love seeing an heroine come into herself, trying new things and becoming more adventurous.

I have to say that this author never ceases to amaze me in her stories. When I first heard about this series, I was SO Nervous…because a gothic like romance in New Orleans, yeah not many authors can handle this but seriously SHE rocked this book out. And it was so unique and different from any other contemporary romance I have ever read. In fact I had to make sure I was actually reading a contemporary not a historical at times because the way the hero “courts” the heroine is so “old world” and I LOVED it. And yeah the ending threw me and I do admire an author that can susprise me when I least expect it.

So this family is beyond fun and exciting and I just LOVED this book, and I am so sad that the O Malley’s are done. But seriously this author did a great job with this book and I honestly couldn’t put it down AT ALL!!! These two are just right for each other, and yeah the heroine has some serious issues to overcome, but I love that the hero is all about helping her become stronger and never gives up on her.

So I have read quite a few books by this author and I love her writing style, however I believe that this is my favorite title of hers. I was so drawn into this world of the Bayou that she introduces us to and man I have never read a sexier dragon hero!!!

Savage is a modern day Beauty and the Beast Retelling and what a beautifully written romance although its pretty emotional at times because we do deal with some tough issues such as parental abandonment and abuse, but I loved seeing the culmination of the story and the unique relationship that these two have.

I love a great sci fi romance, and I have to say that this author has become one of my favorites among this genre. I honestly read this one, and then had to grab all the other books in the series because it was that good. I adore an author that keeps me so involved in a story that I can’t put it down. And the world building was so fascinating and I can’t wait for more from this author.

I do love this author, and man this book was so good. If you love a good sexy barbarian style romance, with a fantasy setting. If you like Game of Thrones, you will love this book. Now I will say that this book isn’t for everyone. But I adored this book so much that I couldn’t get enough.

I LOVE this trilogy, one of the best mafia romances I have ever had the pleasure of reading. What I liked most about these books, was that the relationship was soft and sweet while the other elements surrounding them are more gritty. It was so wonderful to see them go on this journey through these three books and just become stronger than ever. And yes they both go through hell and back in this book, but man I loved the final outcome and seeing how united they are. Love IT!! So if you love mafia romance, grab this one up. You won’t regret it.

I will say that I am so in LOVE with this fantasy series by Sparks, they are so amazing. Granted, this book isn’t nearly as good as book two, however it was so much fun and full of mystery and intrigue and I love the frienship between these women. And yeah I can never say no to dragons.
