This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

Today, our topic is spies and lovers, so basically whenever there is a theme of espionage, or one or both of the characters are spies. Now most of these are going to be historical recs as this is where one sees this the most. Although sometimes you see it in more modern settings.

This is such a superb story and was one of my very first spy novels and I absolutely ADORED it! It also has a very sensual feel to the story as well. I love the way that this book was implemented. Its a kidnapping to keep you safe type of story and is just delightful and the angsty is just right.

This is a book I read like when I was a teen but its still a book that I still love so much! Its definitely one that will keep you up late reading. I love the vibe of this book, it just has such a great sense of intrigue. Its a fantastic romantic thriller.

In this one, this has a more mafia feel to the story. The heroine is a bit of a spy and is a hacker and the hero finds out and sparks fly between them. I absolutely loved this one and just couldn’t put it down. One of her best works in my opinion.

This has such a great sense of intrigue and mystery to it. Its set around 1700’s Scotland. It does deal with a very difficult era of UK history though but loves the way that the duo author (this is a couple writing team) wrote this story, its super atmospheric.

This is basically a retelling of Mr and Mrs Smith and its so fun to read. I just love the chemistry between these two and its so hilarious! One of the best books this author has written.

The hero is a bit of a spy as he is a shifter and can pretty much shift into just about anything lol I love the element of espionage in this one and is definitely delightful and has one of the most satisfying endings of all time.

This is such a fun story here, and I absolutely love the way that these two get entangled.

This one has a very unique twist on some espionage and I really adored the way that Julia Quinn spun this.

If you love great espionage and mystery, then this author needs to be your go to! These books are just flawless in these aspects and I just loved the writing style, so different from any other historical I have read.

The couple here just have such a great pairing and really balance each other out. Basically, the heroine is a kick ass spy and the hero is a scarred man and has such a quick-witted charm to it. If you love spies in romance, this author needs to be on your list.

I know I read some romance with spies, but I feel they were mostly YA. One was definitely a historical type book too.

The Beauty and the Spy cover reminds me of those older Harlequin romances. Those are what I read first back when my mom would give me the books she read.

I don’t think that I have read too many romances with spies. I tend to read more historical fiction with those kinds of characters but these do look like fun!
