Recommend It: Menage Romance

This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

So for this week, I am featuring Menage a Trois romances. Now this is a trope that will NOT be for everyone, and I completely understand if it doesn’t work out for you. Some years ago, it was a trope that I avoided like the plague. However, I have come to respect it and some authors write it super well! I do think it does better if its a longer book or in a trilogy or duo to be honest. Just because when you add a third person, its a much more complex of a relationship. Now I want to be clear, that menage is quite different than say “Reverse Harem or Why Choose”. In a menage its more about the three persons involved in the relationship, whereas Reverse Harem its really about one person and you can have multiple partners (and quite frankly the ones I have read from the RH trope, are really just smut, there isn’t much focus on the emotional side of the relationship which is why I avoid it). Now I have to say that I adore menage romance especially when its done well and below I have my top picks that if you want to dip your toe into Menage romance or enjoy the trope and want some to try, then I definitely recommend these.

I absolutely adore this series (I still need to read the final book) but this series has an indepth relationship between two men and one female. And I absolutely adore the depths of emotion and intimacy that is displayed in it.

This one was super amazing! I absolutely had so much fun with this relationship. Now I do think it could have used a bit more time and longer length to develop the relationship a bit more, but still well done!

This was my first menage, I fell so hard for this one here. It was simply so delightful. There are no swords crossing on this one, as it deals with brothers. But it’s so sweet and endearing.

This one was so delightful. This is where we see a married couple bring in a third party and it’s so well done. I really enjoyed the way that they build the relationship together.

I had such a wonderful time in reading this relationship and its going to be so different from any that I have mentioned, as this is a dark romance. Its brutal in some ways, so check the trigger warnings. But so amazing. It really brings three souls together that are unexpected.

Oh man did I love this story so much and even though the manner of the relationship was unexpected, I adored it. Its done in a dark way, this is not your run of the mill historical romance. You do need to go in with a open mind and knowing that this is more authentic in a pirate romance of a tale.

Lexi Blake did such a wonderful job with this one here. And it’s so FUNNY! It definitely is one of the more lighter reads that she has written. Although many of her books have solid humor, there was something so much more to this one that just clicked together for me.

This is part of a trilogy “New Camelot” and honestly one of the best menages I have ever read and I can’t recommend this enough. If you like romances with politician characters, you should grab this one up. And the menage relationship is so well built. Those who have read these books know why its on my list.

So tell me what do you love the most about Menage a Trois romances? Have you read any from my list here? What are some of your top favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

I don’t know if I have read any menage romances or not. Maybe? It isn’t something that I would look for but not something that I would avoid either. I will have to check out these recommendations.

I honestly don’t like menages. Probably because I don’t like sharing LOL And it saddens me somehow as it’s all the rage as well as Reverse Harem these days so I feel left out. But I do prefer possessive (yet respectful) alphas.

I’m not a big menage reader, but I did read Cate’s because I like that series. It was good recommendation.

I do enjoy reading menage romance and have read some good ones (and some not so good ones). I have lots of mixed feelings about the New Camelot trilogy but I do agree that the menage aspect was done well.
