This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

For this week, I wanted to share some gothic romance, as we get closer to Halloween, I know that the spooky gothic reads are going to be more desirable and felt like I should share some of my top favorite gothic reads that I think any romance reader would enjoy. I personally adore gothic romance, there is something that just delivers on a different level, its super atmospheric and gives the reader just what they are looking for in a gothic romance.

I recently read this one, and it was perfect! Engaging writing, super atmospheric vibes with curses, spooky themes and set in the medieval era of “House of Lancaster (so late 1200’s). Its a novella, abou 160 pages, so short but thrilling!

This is a trilogy that I am sure many of you are familiar with, but its set in the 1920’s, with speakeasy’s, fortune tellers and lots of dark magic that has super gothic vibes.

This is a series that is contemporary/erotic romance, that is set in England at a abbey and has super gothic themes to the story with lots of mystery surrounding the history of it. The series is centered around 6 friends.

If you want a great gothic vibe in a contemporary setting, and need a alpha male, you need to pick this one up. These books can be read as standalones.

If you love gothic historical’s, then this is a must read for any romance reader. It has tons of mystery, paranormel gothic elements, very atmospheric and super romantic.

This book completely surprised me in how much I loved it! It super sexy, there are ghosts and haunted buildings and solving a murder mystery and lots of gothic themes around the de Vincent family.

This book and really the whole trilogy is one gothic romancefest! Its simply addicting. There is such a dark overlay to the setting, with magic and ghosts and the steamy in the this book is top notch. There is such a victorian mystery surrounding this one that really pulls you in so quickly to the story.

So tell me what do you love the most about Gothic Themed romances? Have you read any from my list here? What are some of your top favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

I love seeing Midnight Sins included! I feel like the de Vincent trilogy somehow fell through the cracks and never got the attention it deserved.
