Recommend It: Football Romances

by | Sep 17, 2022 | Uncategorized | 7 comments

This is a new feature I want to try to do on a more consistent basis, I don’t know if it will be a weekly feature but I might just make it one if it’s popular enough! So let me know if you love this feature. The “Recommend It” feature, is where I will recommend romances based on a certain theme, trope or character type.

Today, I want to do something special to kick this off (no pun intended lol) As we enter into the fall/autumn season, one of the major aspects of the season for us in North America at least, (and yes Canada has football :)), but I adore American style Football. I practically was weaned on this sport, and the only time I pay for cable is from September through December. But this is the only sport I truly love at least for team sports. There is something so fun and exciting about this sport for me and it also makes for some great romance as well! Below I have listed my top football favorites that if you are a football fan you will love too!

I absolutely adored this one here. And if you love football this one you will find intriguing as the heroine is a female kick returner (which is rare but does happen from time to time). I absolutely adored this story, it has fabulous chemistry and the angst is so well done.

This was one of my summer reads but its really perfect for a fall/autumn read. I just adored the sparks and fun times that is delivered on this one. And I love a good coach romance. It also has a small town set up with plenty of humor.

This one was so delicious, and anyone that lives in the realm of football rivalries will know how realistic this was written haha. This does have a enemies to lovers or really frenemies at least. It really shows the complexities of a rivalry and the romance is so wonderful!!!

In this story, we have a romance that develops between a pro football player and his assistant/housekeeper. This is a super SLOW burn romance, but so well done. Its one of my favorite books from this author and if you are a football fan, this is a must read.

This has a level of forbidden love attached to it. You have a hero is a quarterback and the daughter of the coach and not only that but she hates football and players but their story is so beautiful and addicting. I could re read these all day.

I absolutely adored this romance. It does have a fling set up with a mix of unrequited love. The way that the slow chemistry is built up is so well written and one of the best books this author has ever written.

This is probably my favorite book from this author and I really loved this book here. Its such a sweet football romance where the hero is a professional player with an unrequited love set up where the heroine says no to the hero and he has to work for it a bit. It does have a element of a pining hero and I really enjoyed how it played out.

This has a more forbidden theme to it. This does feature a college student/teacher romance. But I would like to point out that the heroine is the teacher and they are only like 2 years apart lol so it works and Linda Kage handles it really well.

This book was SO fantastic and entertaining. And I do recommend doing it in audio, the narration just added something more to the story. This is where we have a pro football player and the heroine being sportcaster. Their dynamic was HOT and entertaining.

This is such a mature romance, if you are looking for more mature characters then you definitely need to pick up this author especially this series. I adored this book, it was such a solid football romance and felt so relatable.

So tell me what do you love the most about football romances? Have you read any from my list here? What are some of your top favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

Sports romances are my jam, and I actually read five of these. I miss Carmack’s series. I wish she would write more books in that series. I am going to drop a YA here, Catching Jordan, because the heroine is playing football too.

I’ve read a couple of those, but still need to read The Wall of Winnepeg from my list. I’ve got the second book after The Hook-Up, too. You might like Sweet Home by Tillie Cole.

What a fun post, Renee! I looove sports romances and while hockey is my go-to, football is a close second. 🙂 I’ve read The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, The Hook Up, and All Lined Up. All were good but The Wall of Winnipeg and Me was an instant favorite. Loved it!
