Elite Romance: Book Covers of books Read in 2023

by | Dec 20, 2023 | End of Year Survey | 6 comments

Welcome to the next segment of the Elite Romance series of 2023.  This post is where I am going to list my TOP reads of the year, which wasn’t easy to narrow down. I have had a great reading year and I am thrilled to be able to share all the delicious reads that I have here.

For this segment, I am going to share all the top picks of covers I love the most of the books that I read this past year. I just love all of these covers, covers are the best way to draw readers to a book and definitely hold true with all of these. Covers are my catnip, if it has a pretty cover, you can bet I will grab it up.

So these covers I just love and adore. The Tillie Cole …this one is so creepy but dark and dangerous. Then we have our historical covers here. I love a sexy clinch covers. And each of these is a little bit different and I wish we weren’t losing these style of historical covers. I really love this cover from Elsie Silver. The authors style of cover for these books is the best, what the publisher created is horrid in comparison. I do like the alternative one but both covers now are hard to find in place of the boring bloom cover haha (and yeah I really can’t stand most bloom covers these days) I really like the style of the Maya Banks. We don’t see this style very often.

Catherine Cowles creates the best covers. Its why in 2024 I am going to be rushing to get all of her covers in print before the new covers come out. Part of me is tempted to wait to see what the publisher will create. But how they have been handling the indie author covers lately, I just don’t trust them at this point. And Catherine Cowles is very involved in the creation of her covers and I love that. I am happy for her being with a publisher, but I am curious to see if her writing will feel less free and what the publisher will do with the covers. Harper St. George has the most beuatiful historical covers. They have such a classy dress vibe that really portrays the feeling of the story. I love this style of cover that Samantha Young has been doing. Its just really romantic and has a mix of a couple on the cover with some pretty real estate. If you look at the Greer Rivers covers, they have so much depth and detail that connect to the retelling they are going with. I really love what Avon does with Jennifer Ryan. They tend to always do well with her covers and I really love that. Then we have the hot sex man on the Karina Halle….I mean *fans face* yes this is HOT and I love it.

KA Tucker has a great cover here and I will be honest while searching her backlist, the cover is what drew me to this. The Jeffe Kennedy cover is so fascinating. I love how the covers of this series is done. It just has so much depth to it. Untouched has such a mysterious gothic vibe to the cover. Meghan March (her original covers( have such a sexy vibe and I really like the feels that you get from this series and the covers. They really add to the vibe of the actual story. The Gayle Callen is so pretty. This might be my favorite cover from her. Its so beautifully clinch. Then finally we have the Beth Kery. I love the silk and sexy vibe to this cover. Its so classy feeling.

Avon really handles Lynsay Sands so well, and I love the hot sexy vibe to this cover. Its probably one of my favorites of the series. The JAL is so sensual and I love it the feeling you get from it. Corinne Michaels always has some sexy male models in her covers and always appreciate a good looking man. Emma Hart has such fun flirty covers. THIS is the type of rom com covers I want to see more of in the genre. Because real people in covers will always be my priority. Then we have the KA, I love this one and really all the covers in the series are superb. I mean back and shoulder muscles—yes please. And I just had to share another Catherine Cowles because these covers.

Yes, a cover can be the biggest draw to a book for me. I get why folks are going to the illustrated ones, but I’m with you on missing real people and romantic poses/expressions.

The Greatest Risk’s cover reminds me of Detroyed by Pepper Winters!

Cowles really does have the best covers and the Beautifully Broken Redemption is one of my favorites. The cover of Ten Tiny Breaths is very nostalgic for me.
