by | Dec 21, 2023 | End of Year Survey | 1 comment

Welcome to another feature with the Elite Romance of 2023. Elite Romance is a yearly feature that I run on this blog, that showcases all of our favorite reads for the year. This is a feature that I look forward to each and every year! Its such a blast to put together and reflect on past year for my reading and what made the most impression.

Today our topic is the BEST Atmospheric romances that I read this year. I actually was able to pick up some fantastic reads that just had the perfect atmospheric vibe to it. So let me show you the books that made the biggest impression for me and tell me all of your FAVORITES for this too!

So when you think of a book when such a fun atmosphere, its this world that this author has created. It has such small town gilmore girls type of vibe.

If you love small town romance, then Emma Cane needs to be on your list. I really love her books and she really brings to life a remote town feel to her stories.

It is just magical in how this author has created the Mystic Bayou series and each book even though these are shorter, have such strong atmospheric vibes. She just makes the setting come alive.

Catherine Cowles writes the best atmosphere. She really makes the pacific northwest come alive for her readers. I really appreciate how she handles the setting.

Aja James is delightful. And she really builds her world building so well and the atmospheric vibes are really perfection in here.

I have really adored the Adair Family by this author. These books are so superb. One aspect that has impressed me the most about her writing especially for these books is how she captures the Scotland setting so well. Its rich and vibrant.

I was nervous about this one and even though it wasn’t perfect or anything, it was a solid read. But what was really great about this book was the setting. Cora Reilly really makes the Ireland setting come alive for the reader.

What a fantastic book. This gothic series by this author was superb. I just had such a blast with it. It was so wonderful and if you need a book with strong gothic vibes, then you need to pick up these books. Classic KA of course is always a hit.

The talent of her writing is how well she can bring you into a story and make the setting come alive. Its so detailed and instantly you feel those fun western vibes that she capitalizes on so well.

One of the best things in this book is the atmospheric vibes. If you are looking for a gothic thriller like vibe, look no further than this one. I really found it fascinating in how this author handled the atmsphere.

This book was amazing and one of the best aspects to this book was the atmosphere. I have no idea how this author wrote such a wonderful book, but the atmosphere was perfection. This would be my favorite book of the year.

Bella Di Corte writes such fabulous atmosphere. Literally you can feel the weather on your face, that is so vibrant it is. You can tell that she really does her research on the various settings you see this couple be in. I just know when I pick up this author, that the atmosphere will be handled just right. I wish more authors would research like this one does.

Although all books have their charms for one reason or another, Grimstone particularly attracts me because of the fascinating gothic thriller atmosphere it exudes . . .
