Welcome to the first post of the Elite Romance series of 2023. This post is where I am going to list my TOP reads of the year, which wasn’t easy to narrow down. I have had a decent reading year and I am thrilled to be able to share all the delicious reads that I have here.
In this post, I share the books that I had wanted to originally get to at the beginning of 2023, but there just isn’t enough time in the year to get to everything that I want to get to. But I do plan on making time for these in 2024.
I really want to get back to reading this author. I really have missed reading her books and for some reason I didn’t reach much of her this year. Something in my plans for 2024.
This is a series I do want to read. I was just feeling burnt out from historicals this past year so didn’t too many of those read this year.
This author seems to have the same formula for her shifter books so I really try to space out her books so haven’t gotten to this one yet, but would like to soon.
I am really loving these covers for this series. Her covers lately have been so so gorgeous. I am also wondering if her writing style has changed (she always does a third act breakup in every single book she writes) or if it has the same formula
While I do want to read this one, I will be honest Kate isn’t my favorite heroine and I have kinda lost interest in reading her character anymore especially after seeing the type of heroines they wrote with the Hidden Legacy. But I would like to get to these since I do love Curran.
After reading Phantom, I wanted to read more of this series and just haven’t gotten to this one yet. So I definitely still have it in the plans.
I am not sure why I haven’t read much Meghan Quinn this year, she was in my plans, but I just never did. lol I guess her covers just have been turning me off. But will get to this one soon.
Even though this one has a trope I hate, I still wanted to read this one. With this author switching to illustrated covers, I am not sure if I will read her more in the future because her reasons for it just seemed like she was attacking readers that want a sexy cover instead.
I wanted to read this. Its basically a shere khan inspired story but its a series that has one couple and cliffhangers so I am waiting till its completed.
I have been wanting to read more Jade West. I read my first book from her this year and had a blast with it. I do want to read more erotic romance. That sub genre can be harder to find at times with all the monster and RH books coming out.
I know I know…I can’t believe I haven’t gotten to this series yet!!! *crying* but I really want to and soon. Which I am almost done with her Pure Dark Ones, only have one book left.
I wanted to read this but I really think I need to read the other books in the series that I haven’t read yet but I really do want his story.
I have fallen way behind on Quinn’s books, but they are pretty massive for contemporary romance.
So many books and so little time, right? Hope you manage to get to these in 2024!
I think if you like Quinn’s writing, you’re going to have to look past her newer covers. She has said the shirtless men are a thing of the past now that her children are old enough to ask questions about her covers. I will miss the non-illustrated ones, but her writing is worth it to me in a big way. I loved Royally in Trouble. I thought it was even better than the first book.
Yes I do like her writing especially if I am wanting a good rom com. I know I will miss her ppl covers. They were awesome. But if she wants to put a shirt on the guys I would be okay with that too. Just not a fan of illustrated covers taking over the genre is all and I thought she would last but SHE is one of the few authors I will dismiss the cover for. Because she does write true rom coms. Just wish authors would stand a bit stronger against it, I think I would prefer alternative covers like the Becka Mack or what Elsie Silver did before Bloom picked her up over illustrated ones. But I get it, for her its beneficial. I just am afraid of what these covers with do to our genre of romance. shrugs
