There have been so many fun moments in books that I have read over the past year so here I have shared some of my favorite moments!!!
“Don’t want people around town thinking we’re just friends or we’re just fooling around. We’re gonna see where this goes.”
“We’ve had one kind-of-date, Jess. And I wouldn’t call us friends.”
“Because we’re not just friends.”
“I’m not dating you. I don’t even like you. Find someone else to keep you company at the café.”
“You like me. Can see it in your eyes when you look at me.”
“Physically, yes. But personally, you’re a jackass.”
He yanked the truck to the side of the road.
“What are you–” I started but Jess reached across the cab, grabbed me at the back of the neck and slammed his mouth down on mine.
Lust. It’s not soft like the touch of a raindrop. It’s not easy like floating aimlessly on the water. It’s weighted, and heavy, a spark that catches on the forest of your body. A wildfire.
“You’re bossy, arrogant, intrusive, annoying… ”
His minor grin amplified.
See! Totally unrepentant…
“Do I have anything going for me?”
“… you can be sweet, you’re a cuddler, and you carried me out of a burning building…”
“I’m a cuddler?”
“You spoon.”
His brows went up. “That’s important enough to be on your list?”
“Uh… yeah.”
[He’s grinning] “Fuckin’ ridiculous what women think is important.
“Shh.” He made a sound, a near-purr, and his hands came up to hold her palm against him in a gesture so tender and loving she felt it in her soul.
“The future is what matters now. Because of you, I have one.”
“Because of you, I feel like I finally belong somewhere.”
“Fate or imprinting, or whatever the hell my people want to call it – none of that can make me love you.”
“I love you, Layla. I love your stubborn streak, the way you love Rosie, Raife, and Tati. I admire you desire for independence, and Lord knows, I love your moxie.”
“Fate didn’t make me love you… you did.”
I can’t wait to have my mouth on you again. I’m gonna eat you like I’m on death row and you’re my last goddamned meal.
There are some things you don’t get over. You just accept them, and keep breathing. That’s enough.
I do want what I don’t have. That’s part of it. But not in the way you think. Don’t ask me to explain it, but when I’m around you, I’m happy. That’s all I’m after
She was no longer a means to an end, but had become the end itself
“I could not dream a better you.”
Oh my God.
Oh… my… God.
Did he just say that?
I stared into his warm eyes.
He just said that.
And that was so sweet, so unexpected but so welcome, my breath arrested and all I could do was continue staring at him.
He wasn’t done. “A better wife, a better queen. Not even in a dream could I create better than you.”
When you find that person you want to be with, you’ll move mountains to make it work.
