Elite Most Quotable of 2022

by | Dec 29, 2022 | End of Year Survey | 5 comments

Welcome to the next segment of the Elite Romance series of 2022.  This post is where I am going to list my TOP reads of the year, which wasn’t easy to narrow down. I have had a decent reading year and I am thrilled to be able to share all the delicious reads that I have here.

There have been so many fun moments in books that I have read over the past year so here I have shared some of my favorite moments!!!

“My love for you is eternal and unfaltering, Lazarus. Do not doubt that. Stars will form and die, and what I feel for you will remain undimmed.”

“And to think, it all started with a little bit of faith. Misplaced trust. Missing pixie dust. And a villain who just needed to steal a little love”

“I knew, when I saw our shadows together, that my life wasn’t going to be all blood and torture and ugliness if I could just have you. You were going to be my heart. My soul. There could be beauty in my life. Something worthwhile. A treasure to protect and fight for.”

“I know you have demons, and you don’t have to share them with me,” she said softly. “But don’t lock us in a dungeon with them. We’ll never survive. I had to trust you to let you touch me. Maybe you can try to trust me, and we can move past your demons together.”

“You’re at your most vulnerable when you experience pain or joy. But joy can be ripped away, and pain can go beyond what’s safe. But trust … Trust is the most intimate thing of all.”

Glory didn’t lie in victory or power or even money; it lay in the heart. It lay in the two sleeping infants in his arms and in his willingness to understand what was important in life. Who was important in life.

I will bear the hardships life brings us. For life would be so much more unbearable Without you. We will follow the uncaught wind, And range with the eagle and all wild things— Wild and free … like you, my darling … And like the love we share … wild and free. Wild and free.

I feel . . . like the world just disappeared around us . . . like we’re on the verge of a zombie apocalypse but we’re not scared because we have each other. Even if we turned, we’d find our way together.

“The urge to protect one’s heart is the strongest urge of all. But it’s also impossible if you want to live a rich, full life.”

The heart makes its own rules. If only one could control it with logic, it would never be broken. But love and logic tend to stray from each other.

It’s been my experience that fear doesn’t have a set of parameters. We can’t turn it off just by realizing we shouldn’t be afraid.”

“A true second shot will split the first arrow and create a solid path.”

“Give me one good reason I shouldn’t kill you—just one.” The entire gym was quiet. “I love you,” I whispered. “That’s my reason, and it will always be my reason. I love you. And sometimes love asks us to do the impossible, and all we can do is hope it’s strong enough, big enough, to cover a multitude of sins.”

“Yes.” He framed her face with his strong hands. “The name Lady Starlight suits you, Iphiginia. You were born to walk in starlight.”

“Contrary to popular belief, the key to being a mastermind isn’t your ability to plot. It’s, in fact, your ability to predict your opponent’s moves before they make them.”

Yes. I want you to continue to stroke my heart. Stare into your eyes. Feel your comforting warmth. Get lost in it. I want to replicate that embrace, but in your bed, our limbs tangled together.

“Some folks believe. Some folks need to see to believe. Some folks need their loved ones hurled off the top of a castle by a spirit-bitch-from-hell to believe.”

She was clever without the benefit of flowery words. Brave without the benefit of strength. Generous without the benefit of wealth.
