Books I Love But Rarely Talk About

So I saw this topic around the romance community last week and thought it would be so fun to do. If you want to see the original content, you can go HERE to check it at out Tori’s Novel Life. But I found this idea to be such fun and thought I would start out the week with a fun post and feel free to join in on this if you want to! Would love to see all of your favorites that you don’t talk about often. Now with the amount of books I read, it would take to long to do ALL TIME READ haha So I am just focusing on books I have read this year that other than my weekly wrap up post, haven’t discussed them or they haven’t gone on any book lists.

This is a friends to lovers and I will be honest this might be one of my TOP favorite books from this author. I haven’t really talked about this new series but I love these books and especially this family. And isn’t the cover so pretty? But loved everything about this book and to be honest I feel like books with the friends to lovers trope get a bad rap. Everyone seems to complain about them but sometimes its nice to have a low angst romance. I adored their relationship and seeing them work on rebuilding their connection to each other. If you haven’t read Catherine Cowles, this series is a great place to start with.

Absolutely adored this one! Its always so rare to find such a great FF romance especially when that doesn’t have tons of agenda being pushed. This is a sexy romance and absolutely adored it and it has a level of suspense to it that I really enjoyed seeing being implemented. I think readers wanting more FF romance that has a contemporary edgy feel to it (think Katy Evans or J. Kenner type of vibe) then come check this author out and I think all of her books are in KU too.

I know I probably would this one a couple of months ago haha but I LOVED it. Its probably one of my favorite enemies to lovers I have ever read! This book would go into favorites of ALL time type of list. What is fabulous about this one is that the trope evolves beautifully. Too oftens an enemies to lovers doesn’t transition smoothly and there isn’t a ton of depth involved. Its just to write angst for angst sake. But in this one, you really see the change slowly but steadily.

This is probably the sweetest of books that this author has written. The romance itself is super endearing. Loved seeing parents falling in love over the drama between their kids haha It just felt so relatable in many respects. Loved it!

This is an author that I just love so dearly and NEVER talk about her enough. I think everyone should read her books haha I adored this one though, it was so sexy and endearing and had such a summer vibe to it. So, it would be perfect this time of year to pick up. If you are looking for a classy feeling steamy read, than this is an author that you need to pick up.

This book HOOKED me in so fast! When I am telling you that this was addictive I am serious. There is something about Heath’s older writing that does NOT compare to her newer stuff. I am not sure if its because its a western (which I think is her best stuff personally) and its not the story itself. The story is a bit bonkers at times, but I could NOT put it down and it delivered so deeply on emotion.

This was such an endearing book and it just sweeps you into the story so fast! I love how well Anna Campbell can effectively do that with her writing. It also has a set up of the conflict making you want to cheer this couple on in their fight for freedom and justice and the heroine saves the hero. And its not done in a super feminist way or to push a feminist agenda. It feels natural and genuine.

Lora Leigh is just SUPERB in everything that she writes. This has the amnesia trope and I can be picky about this trope, but with typical flair that only this author can do, it was so so good! The suspense was good, the sex was steamy, and the romance was poignant. You can never go wrong with this author at the helm.

*spoiler alert* This was the MOST unique best friend’s sister romance I have EVER read! This author threw me for a loop on this one. The fact is the brother and the BIG UPSET at the end, you would think he would be mad at his best friend?? haha But actually he puts his sister in the hot seat to make sure she treats his best friend good. I have NEVER EVER seen that done before so the author really put in some good shock value. IT WAS AWESOME!! I loved it! But the romance is actually delightful too. There is such a strong focus on friendship bonds between everyone involved.

You know I love Catherine Cowles so I totally agree with your first pick. πŸ™‚ I adore friends to lovers (it’s probably my favorite trope) so this one in particular was right up my alley.

I’ve enjoyed Catherine Cowels but haven’t read that one. I’ve read one by Kery so I’d probably enjoy Make Me. I haven’t read Heath, but I’d like to. I’ll note your choice down for when I can pick her up.
