This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.
It’s Christmas time in London and Rafe Bowman has arrived from America for his arranged meeting with Natalie Blandford, the very proper and beautiful daughter of Lady and Lord Blandford. His chiseled good looks and imposing physique are sure to impress the lady-in-waiting, and if it weren’t for his shocking American ways and wild reputation, her hand would already be guaranteed.
Before the courtship can begin, Rafe realizes he must learn the rules of London society. But when four former Wallfowers try their hand at matchmaking, no one knows what will happen. And winning a bride turns out to be more complicated than Rafe Bowman anticipated, especially for a man accustomed to getting anything he wants.
However, Christmas works in the most unexpected ways, changing a cynic to a romantic and inspiring passion in the most timid of hearts.
A Wallflower Christmas takes a trip to Victorian London, under the mistletoe, and on a journey of the heart.
Why A Wallflower Christmas?
I was actually surprised to realize that I hadn’t done this for a Throwback Thursday, even though I have participated in this meme for quite a long time and this is one of my favorite books. So I want to share this month my favorite Christmas romances that were published before 2008 and A Wallflower Christmas is at the top of that list and it was published in 2008. So this story takes place a little while after Scandal in Spring, which is book four of the series. The wallflowers are all getting together to celebrate Christmas and the Bowman sister’s brother Rafe is coming for a visit. We get to see our favorite characters and the men that love them and some fu interactions for sure but we also see Rafe’s story who falls in love with one of the most unlikely women and a woman his father doesn’t approve of. So we see how Rafe and Hannah deal with this forbidden relationship and seeing that love does conquer all and boy you won’t have a dry eye once you finish reading this. Simply superb, so grab this up if you adore these lovely ladies!!

My Review
Oh I really need tot ry this author!
What a fun idea! I might have to take part. I do feature a TBT meme on my blog, but its about sprucing up old reviews. 🙂
I don’t remember older Christmas themed books in my reads. I guess I wasn’t as into them back in the day, but neat that you get this one as a sort of epilogue to your favorite series.
I haven’t read this one in years! I really need to do a reread!I remember really loving this.
Wonderful choice! You can’t go wrong with Kleypas. Especially this one, though. Wow, does it give a reader girl all the feels. LOL!
