No one knows how new members are selected to the board of Hale Banking and Holding. But there are rumors of a sordid rite of initiation.
Whispers how one woman and nine men disappear into a boardroom.
This time, that woman will be me.
The Hale family owns everything—the eighth largest bank in the world, everyone in our town, even the mortgage on my parents’ mansion. And now Royce Hale wants to own me.
He is charming. Seductive. Ruthless. But above all, he’s the prince of lies. My body may tighten with white-hot desire under his penetrating gaze, but I refuse to enjoy it.
I’ll make a deal with the devil to save my family and sell myself to the Hales. But Royce will never own my heart.

I read this WHOLE series in like two days and what a ride it was. I was nervous about reading though in some ways because I had heard that this series wasn’t for everyone and had some darker elements and as this is Nikki Sloane you just know she will take you on a wild and incredible journey and I had a blast to be honest. I was quite addicted to these books. So get ready for all my reviews and thoughts on this series.

So The Initiation is a book that starts off our main couple: Royce and Maris. Royce is the older son of the Hale family, and is tough as nails and has to be with the type of father he has been raised by. He is gearing his way towards taking the reins of the company and will do anything for that to happen. Then we have our heroine, Maris, who has grown up privileged but has been treated poorly by her peers. She has always considered herself the weird undesirable one of the social elites that her family is connected to and a bit of a ugly duckling. And it isn’t until her family is in dire straights, that she takes control and decides to jump into a life she has no comprehension of. Maris is a strong heroine but she definitely has her share of vulnerabilities. I enjoyed seeing all the challenges that she is faced with and the intense chemistry that builds between Royce and Maris. Its that intensity that really draws you in and the writing (as per Nikki Sloane’s style) is utterly addicting. There is a scene here that will NOT be for everyone, and I admired the way that Maris just forges ahead with it despite it being bonkers.

Overall I found this first book to be a wild page turner that held my attention and by the end had me thirsting for more.

The Hale family is obsessed with status, power, and control. No problem is too big their money can’t solve.
Royce Hale manipulated me into giving him everything. My virginity. My hand in marriage. My heart.
And as soon as he got what he wanted, he callously sold me off for a cool ten million.
In the boardroom and the twisted game his family plays, he says the only rule is to win at all costs.
Yesterday I learned a painful lesson not to trust the prince of Cape Hill. Today I’ll destroy his carefully laid plans and show him just how badly he’s already lost.
All the money in the world won’t be able to stop me.

The Obsession is a book that carries us through the journey of Royce and Maris and a third party that plays a role is Royce’s father: Macalister. Maris is out for her own vengeance when she realizes the true depths that Royce will go to in reaching his goals. Its not easy for Maris to see how he will cast her away for his future. Maris has just started to fall hard for Royce and now must deal with the hardness of his father Macalister. She has literally no freedom or much choice now that she was willing to do what needed to be done, especially with her family practically destitute thanks to their bad decisions and her sister being pregnant. She is split into two wanting to trust Royce but knowing he could easily stab her in the back again.

I did find this installment to be my least favorite of the three books featuring Royce and Maris. We get Royce’s betrayal and its really hard to see that but Maris really shows courage in this installment and I admired what she does to stand up to his father even when its not easy. I wasn’t really for this cat and mouse game that she and Macalister play with each other. And all three individuals have ISSUES LOL And there is plenty of intrigue because of all the secrets that are kept from each other. You understand fully why especially Royce keeps Maris in the dark because of his plans to take over the company because of how dangerous his father is becoming. But despite the issues, the writing is so addicting and I honestly couldn’t get enough of seeing where this author was taking us. But there are scenes of almost “cheating” its complicated of course, so if you have read the book you probably understand it more because there is plenty of manipulation especially from Macalister.

And while this isn’t my favorite book in the series, it has growth and mystery and plenty of hot sensual scenes that will keep you up late reading because you won’t be able to get enough of it.

I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.
Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his.
It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they want.
But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.
THE DECEPTION is the third and final book in the twisted Filthy Rich Americans trilogy. It should be read after THE INITIATION and THE OBSESSION.

For the final third installment in the romance between Royce and Maris, we get the wedding and seeing their first year together. I have to say this book was epically beautiful and we see these characters really come together here. I really admired seeing the depths that this author goes to with this pairing. It starts out intense though because you have NO idea what it means and I did cheat and read the last chapter because I just had to know how it ended because its one of those beginnings that is set in the future and then takes you back to the present and yeah the suspense of it all is pretty thrilling at times. The level of intrigue that is played out in this book is phenomenal though and what I enjoyed the most was seeing Royce and Maris really come together here. I wanted so much for them to get their HEA and to find closure and peace. We definitely see all the ups and down and I will admit Maris is a heroine I struggled with off and on throughout this series. I really didn’t care for the secrets that she keeps from Royce and not always being honest about the interactions she has with his father. And the ENDING of this book was CRAZY sauce, because we have a villain you don’t see coming. Definitely turned this reader out for a loop. But I had a blast in seeing how these two reach their ending and the teaser that we have for book four which is Macalister’s book and yes what a anti hero that becomes redeemed.

Once, the name Macalister Hale was uttered in the boardroom with respect. Now, it’s whispered in disgrace at cocktail parties hosted by Boston’s elite.
Scandal nearly destroyed me, but the one thing larger than my infamy is my bank account, and I’ve learned money can solve anything.
Well—almost anything.
Sophia Alby’s preferred currency is secrets and the way she trades information puts Wall Street to shame.
This girl charges into my life and claims a partnership can restore my reputation. My downfall was swift, but with her, my climb to redemption will be greater.
Our arrangement is professional. Appropriate. It has to be, because she’s half my age. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting . . .
To move on. To control and indulge in her. To hear the name Macalister Hale echo in her breathy moans.
But I can’t. Giving in to temptation led to my undoing before, and I won’t survive it a second time.

Now we have book four in the series and this is Macalister’s book and I had no idea how I would feel about reading this one, because we see what Macalister is capable of and he does play a role of a villain in the earlier books and tries to separate Royce and Maris from each other and falls in love with Maris. So he isn’t an easy character to like, because we see how easy it is for him to manipulate others especially his family. But what we also see in the previous books is his vulnerabilities. I did enjoy seeing this come all about and seeing him find his way back to himself. He definitely goes on the road to redemption and not just for himself, but for his sons and rebuilding a relationship with them. Its definitely rock for most of the story but I did love seeing the reconciliation he builds. Then we have the sexy HOT romance with Sophie. Sophie plays a role throughout the series and she is smart and sassy and loves playing the submissive in the bedroom to Macalister’s dominating presence and boy those scenes are FIRE!! But we see their intimacy built, my biggest issue with this was the ending NOT my favorite at all because it just had a HFN instead of a HEA and it just didn’t sit right and I am hoping the next book answers the questions I have. But overall I was genuinely pleased with the most recent book in the series and I can’t wait for book FIVE!! We got the young brother’s book coming out and I am ready for it.
