WORK OUT
No sex for almost a year could kill a guy, but when you’re the boxer known as the Juggernaut, it’s the price you pay for turning pro. Tommy’s fully dedicated to his craft, until he meets the incredibly gorgeous Dr. Siena Carr. Now he’s looking forward to taking on this prim and proper lady in a wet and wild work-out…
KNOCK OUT
Siena has seen many patients come through the ER, but none as sexy as Tommy Raines. With a nasty cut over his eye, she knows he needs stiches, but after he takes off his shirt, she needs some air. With rock-hard abs and taut biceps, it’s clear this man takes care of his body. And all Siena can think about is letting him take care of hers…
In His Corner is a debut novel by Vina Arno. I had this book sitting on my kindle for quite a long time, ever since it was first published because I can never resist a fighter romance and this story really surprised me in how easily I was drawn into the story. In His Corner, is a story that deals with some certain real life issues and I appreciated an author that handled this so very well. We have our heroine, who is a doctor that works in trauma and the ER. Siena was not your average heroine that you find in this fighter themed romance. She grew up spoiled, her family had plenty of money, and she had high standards to say the least. She always had relationships with the most elite of docotors. But in Siena’s defense, she doesn’t realize that she does it. Then she meets a patient she treats, a MMA fighter, who is one of the top and going PRO. There is some powerful sizzling chemistry that occurs between them. Our hero, Tommy, is drawn to Siena. He of course, needs to focus on his career as a PRO fighter. And he hasn’t had sex in almost a year. But there is something more to Siena that he is drawn to.
She was around five-foot-three and probably weighed 110 pounds. He could bench-press two of her. It would be nice to “power lift” her onto his bed
I really loved this book, and even though there were moments that the heroine really drove me crazy. We also see some strong character growth in her. We see a woman who learns to be more understanding and accepting especially of the man she loves. I loved seeing Siena’s journey, and the way the Tommy stands up to her and makes her realize some important truths about herself, that she doesn’t even see until he points them out to her. Tommy however, is the type of alpha male you want in real life. He isn’t domineering or controlling. He actually has a kind heart, but doesn’t mind a good fight and has way too much energy. He has such a relaxed and easy going personality, that just draws you in. Their road isn’t a smooth ride, they have some bumps, but you also see how much they are connected.
In His Corner is a story of reality and human values and the growth and strength of relationships. A vibrant and emotionally in tuned romance!
To me, it’s always important for a character to grow. If I can’t stand a character and they never end up learning from their mistakes or grow up by the end of the book, it drives me absolutely nuts. However, I appreciate the characters who do grow throughout the story. It makes them human. <3 Great review.
Yes I can always appreciate seeing strong character growth in a story.
I love it that its the HERO teaching the heroine the life lessons! So often its the female showing the man he is worthy, and can be better, etc. But this sounds like a great twist! Thanks for the recommendation!
It definitely had a unique twist on a relationship and I loved that aspect about the hero as well.
I think I have only read one or two fighter romances but I like the sound of this one. Great review!
It was a pretty solid fighter romance, so I do recommend it.
I was really hooked on MMA and boxing romances for a while there, but haven’t read one for a while. I like that his one has the heroine growing and learning and the hero not a jerk though an alpha type. I’ll have to look it up.
