Elite Romance: New to Me Authors of 2023

by | Dec 18, 2023 | End of Year Survey | 4 comments

Welcome to the next segment of the Elite Romance series of 2023.  This post is where I am going to list my TOP reads of the year, which wasn’t easy to narrow down. I have had a fabulous reading year and I am thrilled to be able to share all the delicious reads that I have here.

In this segment of this series, I am going to share all the great authors I was able to discover and I discovered so many good ones so it was difficult to narrow down this list. But these are my top picks of the year. Its always so fun to discover new authors and then you just know you have plenty of books to indulge in as they normally have a good strong backlist.

Mia Sheridan has been such a well known other and I just never placed myself in a position to read her work until now and her writing was so picturesque. Its truly a work of art and this book especially is worthy of all the hype ifs received over the years.

Elisa Braden is an author that has been exploding all over the internet and I finally read her and I have to see I see why she is so well loved. I dearly adored this one so deeply. Her writing is so authentic and real and the heroines are so well written.

Liz Tomforde is an author that has recently become pretty popular. Her books especially the first two in this series Mile High and Right Move are epic. The character depth and relationship growth is unreal. She just developed these romance so flawlessly and I love that she isn’t afraid to tackle diversity.

Greer River writes dark mafia romance. And this series I was drawn to become of the phantom retelling and I had so so much fun with it. Her writing was so easy to get into.

Onley James has this assassin MM romance series and I had seen it quite frequently around, and was curious. And wow this author shocked me. Her writing is so addictive and such page turners.

Minerva Spencer is an author I heard about from mostly booktube and as I wanted to try some new historical romance authors, I found this author and the first two books in this series especially was packed with everything I look for in a historical. Adventure, passion, and great banter.

Veronica West is a indie author that is part of one of the groups I am a part of and I fell so hard for her books. I really love her writing style and love that she wrote some racing romance when they are so rare in the genre.

Brittany Ann is an author I had been seeing a bit around and I was intrigued by the dark western romances she was rumored to write. So I just had to try her out and really had a fun time with it.

When I heard this author had a arranged marriage themed series that was contemporary, I just knew that I had to try her out and fell so hard for this author. Loved the vibe that was in these books. The setups are so so fun.

Jodi Thomas is one of the most well known historical western authors out there but have no clue how I have never read her. I really loved the way that she wrote this story. It was so endearing and definitely wanting to explore more of her work.

Lily Mayne has been very popular in recent years and I had been nervous to try her out but I had heard this book specifically is much more supernatural and the writing was very fascinating and unique. Even though I had a blast with this one, not sure I will read the rest of the series.

Becka Mack is an author that I have seen around a bit but not too heavily but I was intrigued to see how her books would be especially this series. I was really hooked into this one and the way the conflict was handled I was highly impressed with. Definitely an author I want to pay attention to.

This author is one that I was told had some of the best writing I could ever read. So I was so fascinated to try her out and yes her writing is spectacular. She is so vivid and really tackles every aspect to write such well balanced stories. I love how well she builds the world she creates.

SJ tilly is an author I recently fell in love with and I just adored. Her writing is so compelling and just sucks you in so quickly. Most of her books aren’t perfect or anything, but so entertaining.

Bella Di Corte is an author that writes a unique kind of mafia romance. I really was intrigued by which this author writes her stories. They are so atmospheric and you can tell this author does her research especially on the settings.

Kate Stewart is an author I have been meaning to read for months especially since she received that backlash. However, I finally picked her up and I really had a fun time with this one. I am eager to try more of her work.

Naima Simone is such a fantastic author. I just loved this series so much and hope she returns to it. The family bonds, the banter, the sexy vibes, just wrapped into a wonderful package.

This is an author I have been seeing quite frequently and even though I am apprehensive over newer HR authors, from what I had heard, that this author would work just right for me. And I really enjoyed this author. While some of her dialogue was a bit modern, it was tolerable.

I am surprised you hadn’t read Mia Sheridan until now. I remember her being so popular several years ago (when I bought Archer’s Voice). I have enjoyed a few from Stewart. That Guy series is a fun one.

I love seeing Mia Sheridan included! I adore her books and actually read two by her this summer/fall. Tomforde is one I keep meaning to try but is just hasn’t happened yet.
