The last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check.
Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.
Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?
I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.
I’m calling bullshit. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.
There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.
THE ROOM MATE is a full-length standalone romance.
I tend to get a little nervous when picking up a new author but I do have to say that The Room Mate was delightful and refreshing and such a ligthearted and sexy romance that was a great diversion from the stresses of life.
Basically this is the story in the title…or the title is the STORY. LOL So our hero, Cannon, has a crazy ex girlfriend who has forced him to be evicted from his own apartment, his sister convinces her best friend to take him in. Paige knows that Cannon is forbidden fruit, considering that he is her best friends brother. But I did love the set up of the story. Because we have a woman who has the hots for her new roomie. A room mate that she has known most of her life. But she doesn’t remember him being so goodlooking or tempting before. Both Canon and Paige have this strong chemistry and for the first part of the story they resist what connection they do feel. But the moment that they decide to act on their attraction, their relationship takes a different turn. But soon Cannon and Paige will have to decide if their love is worth fighting for….
I truly had a blast with this fun and quick read. I wouldn’t say that it would rate a five star by any means, but it truly was quite refreshing and fun and the type of story that will relax you and make you laugh when you most need it. The narration was pretty wonderful, I really liked seeing both these narrators become such a perfect pair. Both of them have pleasant to the ear voices. And they handled the change in character voices quite well and even though its a shorter read, its definitely a fun diversion. I will be reading more of this author and soon!!
I grabbed this box set for 99 cents and am excited to dive in. Sometimes its nice to a light, fun read!
oh wow…great deal!! Those light books are pretty fun especially if you are in the right mood for them.
I agree!! I read the first one and really did enjoy it – not a five star book by any means ( I think I also gave it 3.5?) but it was a perfect book for a lazy Sunday morning. I bought the boxed set recently and can’t wait to dive into the rest of the books.
I agree that this book is perfect to relax your day with but I can’t wait to dive into the other books of the series. The set up’s of these books sound so fun.
It does sound like a light and fun one. Glad the narrators were good ones, too.
Yes having great narrators really make a different don’t they?
mmm that cover 😀
oh yes….definitely drool worthy!! I just love the way that he is taking off his shirt.
Hmm wonder if Jeremy York is related to Sebastian York? I’ve seen this author around a lot but I don’t think I’ve read her? Sounds like a cute read.
