Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions is a feature here on Addicted To Romance where there is talk of books, blogging, and reading topics….so come on in and join in on the discussion
So today I wanted to participate in a book tag that I happened to see on YouTube….Originally on “Crystal’s Bookish Life” where she talks about the goals she would like to have before the end of the year as its almost the end of September. (can you believe we only have a few months left of 2021?? Crazy Sauce)
1. Are there any books you started this year you need to finish?
It is very rare for me to start a book and not finish it or wait to read the “said” book. However, I have started a handful of books but put them aside because I just wasn’t in the mood at the time.
Now many of these books are actually from Libby and a few are books on my kindle. As much as I love reading on my kindle oasis (I tend to enjoy reading on this more than physical books) it can be so easy for books to get lost in the amazon cloud sphere haha whereas, with physical books, it’s on the shelf and you see it there as a reminder.
2. Do you have an autumnal book to transition to the end of the year?
So normally around the fall season I like to read paranormal but this year I want to focus on that genre (but I do try to read PNR year round) but also to include in some seasonal reads that are non Christmas. So like books that are around the fall season or Thanksgiving. So here are some books I would like to get to if I can in October and November.
3. Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Yes, there are still a few that I am looking for although most of my most anticipated releases that were released this year already came out but here are some I am still anticipating.
4. Three Books you want to read before the end of the year?
These are books that are still on my list that I had at the beginning of the year that I wanted to read. And I have heard good things about all of these so eager to get to them
5. Is there a book you think could still shock you and become a favorite of the year?
There is always a possibility for a book to shock me and I honestly never know what book will become a favorite but these I could easily predict be books that would become favorites for the year.
6. Reading Plans for next year?
I honestly have no clue haha normally I don’t make these plans until closer to the new year, like December or so. But I do want to read older historical romance (I am really bored with so much of the traditionally newer published historicals, they just don’t wow me at all and they are dull and tend to be too preachy for me to enjoy them), paranormal romance I do need to read more of, its a genre that needs more love and attention.
So there you go, these are my reading plans for the rest of 2021….so tell me what are your plans for the rest of the year? I would love to know so tell me in the comments below!
Dead Man Walking was SOOOO good! One of my favorites this year! For the rest of the year, I plan on just getting through as many books as possible… We’ll see how that goes! Haha! 😉
Boyfriend Material was such a surprise hit for me last year. I just adored it. Whiteout is one that I want to read soon, too. It’s been ages since I read any romantic suspense.
That Jenn Bennett series was so good! I see a few others on that list I want to read too. I seldom go back to books I quit, but Boyfriend Material was one of them. I DNFed the book, but then tried the audiobook and loved it!
What great plans you have. I always try to make plans but somehow they always get messed up. I do want to try to finally get caught up with J. D. Robb. I’ve only a few left so I should have no issue with that. I’d also like to read some of the books I’ve bought this year that just sit there waiting for me to get to them. This year has been really rough for me and I’ve gotten way behind on reading. I’m hoping next year it much better.
The only plan I have is to read my Netgalley ARCs and few of my own books. These have been severely neglected.
Bitter Spirits and Whiteout were really good! I would like to get back to that Linda Howard series. I read the first one and loved it. Hope you enjoy your end of the year reads!
Those are good plans for the end of the year. I think I have one on my finish later stack and a bunch on my TBR pile that I need to pick up and read. I’ve got that Mary Balogh on my anticipated pile, too. I’m holding steady with my end of the year review books so hopefully it will stay that way.
