The Highland Protector series brings to life four mouthwatering Celtic brothers in twenty-first-century North Carolina—where the lasses are anything but tamed. Highland warrior Alec MacDara and his brothers traveled forward in time to protect the sacred Heartsone. Their cover? Owners and operators of a theme park called Highland Life and Legends. As the chairman, Alec has been fending off requests to film at the breathtaking property. It’s only because of the charming correspondence from an enterprising production assistant that he agrees to a meeting at all. That’s when Alec meets a woman whose lush curves make him forget, for the first time, all about tenth-century Scotland. A lowly assistant for her sister’s motion picture company, wannabe screenwriter Sadie Williams is shocked when Alec agrees to let them film at the park upon one condition: that she report to him daily. Sadie’s sister always told her that their parents only adopted her because they felt sorry for the ugly little stray. But Alec looks at Sadie like she’s the most tempting creature in the world. And with his gleaming, musclebound body stripped down to nothing but a hip-hugging kilt and boots, Alec clearly knows a little something about temptation. In Sadie’s Highlander we have a story where a family of Scots, are being attacked in medieval Scotland, and a magical force of three goddesses, saves them and send them to the future where they have to learn to live in modern times and adjust to the changes and they do with great courage. They adapt pretty well for the most part, keeping where they are really from secret from everyone except for family. Our hero Alec, is your typical Scottish warrior. He is intelligent, a warrior, doesn’t stand for idiots and is pretty blunt in his thinking, but also is a great defender of women. Our heroine is Sadie Williams, she dreams of being a screenwriter, but her older sister who is cruel to her controls her funds. Sadie stays with Alec and his family, so that her sister and her filming crew can film a scottish movie in their autentic Scottish town that is infamous.
What a story this turned out to be, and if you enjoyed Janet Chapman’s Highlander series than this is one book you need to give a try for sure. I really love seeing real highlanders in contemporary times. There is something so different and unique in seeing this type of setting for a romance. The family are a hoot together, they made me laugh in so many ones, and boy do they love to meddle. Alec feels an attraction for Sadie that he hasn’t felt for any other woman he has met. Sadie however has some reservations, she isn’t skinny like her sister and she can’t understand why someone so attractive would be attracted to her. But Alec is from a different time, but he appreciates a woman that enjoys life and has natural curves. I loved the way Alec is with Sadie. He understands that she has some self esteem problems, and he goes out of his way to prove to her of his devotion and love.
This story was full of true feeling, and there was plenty of drama, laughter, silly moments, a sexy filled story that will keep you coming back for more. SIMPLY IRRESISTABLE!
I prefer my highlanders in the olden days
