Lauren Layne brings all the unpredictable heat of her USA Today bestseller Blurred Lines to an all-new cast of characters! Country music’s favorite good girl is hiding away from the world—only to find herself bunking with a guy who makes her want to be a little bad.   Jenny Dawson moved to Nashville to write music, not get famous. But when her latest record goes double platinum, Jenny’s suddenly one of the town’s biggest stars—and the center of a tabloid scandal connecting her with a pop star she’s barely even met. With paparazzi tracking her every move, Jenny flees to a remote mansion in Louisiana to write her next album. The only hiccup is the unexpected presence of a brooding young caretaker named Noah, whose foul mouth and snap judgments lead to constant bickering—and serious heat.   Noah really should tell Jenny that he’s Preston Noah Maxwell Walcott, the owner of the estate where the feisty country singer has made her spoiled self at home. But the charade gives Noah a much-needed break from his own troubles, and before long, their verbal sparring is indistinguishable from foreplay. But as sizzling nights give way to quiet pillow talk, Noah begins to realize that Jenny’s almost as complicated as he is. To fit into each other’s lives, they’ll need the courage to face their problems together—before the outside world catches up to them.

My Review Updated

In Good Girl, we are taken to our heroine who is a country singer/songwriter. She is building up in her popularity. Jenny Dawson has a deep love for music, but lately her muse has been gone. So she moved to LA, on the whim of her manager. But when her life is ruined by a false rumor she goes to the countryside in the middle of no where to get away and reconnect with herself and step back from all the craziness from the media. Preston Noah Maxwell is also a man in hiding. He has more than enough money to last him an eternity of lifetimes, thanks to his father, but he hates his wealth at times. Noah didn’t have the best upbringing. But when his fiancee has an affair, he ends their engagement. He comes to remodel an old house, and meets up with Jenny Dawson. At first Jenny and Noah hate his each other. They fight like cats and dogs. They are secrets between them, and are complete opposites in many ways. But oh man the chemistry is fiery hot!! These two were so entertaining. Their interactions were fun and so many laugh out loud moments that Layne gives us a fun read!!! And the ending was just perfect…better than I imagined. Even though there were many fun moments to this story, at times I felt the flow was a bit off. Occasionally my attention was easy to veer away from the story. I liked the characters here but didn’t necessarily love them. I had issues with both Jenny and Noah. Not huge enough issues to take away my enjoyment, but it still made a bit of difference in some ways. Overall though a enjoyable romance that will give you some good times. And I enjoyed Good Girl enough to want to pick this author up more for sure!!

Oh boy, that does sound like it has some sizzle going on. Yeah, sometimes the story is great and the characters aren’t bad, but you can’t get that perfect connection with them.

Nice review! I’m going to have to check this out. It sounds like you’re right on par with the other reviews I’ve seen for it: fun bickering and a sexy match up. Good combination! 😉
