He’s No Prince Charming…
Callum Griffin is the heir to the Irish Mafia. He’s ruthless, arrogant, and he wants to kill me.
We got off on the wrong foot when I set a (very small) fire in his house.
Our families believe a marriage pact is the only thing that will prevent all-out warfare.
I think I might need to murder him while he sleeps.
This would all be a lot easier if Callum wasn’t so damned good-looking.
But I’ve got a lockbox around my heart. Because even if I’m forced to marry him…
I could never love a brutal prince.
“Brutal Prince” is the explosive first act in the epic “Brutal Birthright” series. It’s a stand-alone Dark Mafia Romance, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers. It contains blazing hot bedroom scenes for mature readers only!!!

Brutal Prince is a story that I read based on the recommendations from “The Book Refuge” and I saw many focus on reading this one during the Mafia Read A Thon that happened this past month. I will say that this book was ridiculous at times, and I almost DNF’d it, to be honest. I think it was the focus of the family and the way the hero is that kept me engaged in the story. I really REALLY struggled with this heroine, she was quite frankly spoiled and a brat. Her family has apparently let her get away with whatever she wants but the way she treats the hero is NOT OKAY in my opinion. I mean poisoning him on their wedding day?! Is that supposed to be justified just because you don’t like the situation and don’t want to be accountable for your choices? I just couldn’t get behind her for most of the book and its only thanks to the page turner, engaging style of writing that kept me with this story. But while this one was most disappointing (the second book wasn’t, so check that one out first if you are curious about this author)
Sounds like a hot mess of a story.
Sometimes it really is just one character and the rest of the story, the writing style, and the series work fabulously. I think I’ll skip our little poison princess here. 🙂
Wow! 4 stars after almost DNF’ing. That’s great!
haha actually it wasn’t. I actually rated it a 2.5 rating. This book I wouldn’t recommend at all (you might have been looking at my heat rating)
I’ve been seeing Sophie Lark mentioned all over Booktube lately but based on your review I think it’s safe to say that she’s probably not for me. The heroine sounds seriously unlikable, and the plot seems like it veers into over the top.
