A ruthless criminal unleashes his most feral desires in the new Leopard novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wild Cat.
Passion melts the will of an ice-cold criminal when he meets the one woman who can tame the beast inside him.
Leopard’s Fury
With her own bakery in San Antonio, Evangeline Tregre made a new life far from the brutal lair of shifters she was born into. Though she is all too aware of her leopard-shifter blood, she never felt the sensation of a wild animal stirring inside her. Not until Alonzo Massi walked into her bakery. The powerful shifter is as irresistible as he is terrifying, but his icy demeanor tells her to keep her distance.
Alonzo knows better than to let himself get involved with someone like Evangeline. She doesn’t deserve the type of danger that follows him, or the threat of his Amur leopard. But even with his lean muscle and iron will, Alonzo isn’t strong enough to stay away from the one woman who can make him feel at peace. And when their secret lives draw a mortal threat, Alonzo unleashes the feral passion he keeps pent up inside himself.
Summary
Evangeline Tegre, left the swamps for a better life for herself, and saves and scrimped her money to open up her own bakery in San Antonio. She keeps her shifter side quiet and she refuses to be part of that brutal world she grew up in. But then her world turns upside down when a stranger that is full of ice walks into her shop. She can feel the hard life that he has lived and how he keeps himself cold, and she only wants to get one smile from him. For a whole year, he walks into her shop for coffee and a treat. Alonzo grew up in a horrible world of violence and death and was trained to be just as evil as the rest of his family. But when his father killed his mother, he fought back to save the life of his brothers. Alonzo has had to make the toughest of choices, he is cunning and ruthless when he needs to be. He knows that Evangeline is his mate, a woman so pure and good it hurts to look at her knowing he is not good for her. But Evangeline and Alonzo learn to fight for each other and their love…
Plot and Story Line
Leopard’s Fury is the most recent release in the Leopard People that Feehan has created. I will be honest the previous two books I wasn’t too impressed with and lost some faith in Feehan’s ability to write this series like the others books. However, from the first chapter, this story felt completely different and more like the earlier books in this series. I adored seeing these two grow and learn together. Both characters were simply wonderful, and what I liked most was that their story wasn’t rushed. We see their chemistry slowly build up for a year but things really pick up when we get some old characters come into the story, including Evangeline’s cousin Joshua. Now for those of you who have read Savage Nature you will really enjoy seeing how Leopard’s Fury connects to that story. Evangeline has gone through quite a bit in her young life. She had to rely on her leopard when she was just a baby. She was abandoned in the swamp and had to hide from her family, who were abusive and controlling and raped the women in the family. Only Joshua managed to escape from becoming like the other men in her family. But when she meets Alonzo, her leopard is what keeps Evangeline from making to many mistakes with Alonzo. Even though Alonzo has lived a brutal life, and he is a bit of a alpha male, but I love how he treats Evangeline. He is patient and understanding with her. It was also fun to see most of the other couples in the series take part in this book and see their acceptance of Alonzo and Evangeline. This story does prove to be very exciting at times, full of suspense and danger and an intensity of emotion to blow your socks off!!
The Cover
Not my favorite of covers to be honest….It doesn’t seem to fit with the other themes of the covers of the series. But I do love the the sunset behind the prarie like fields.
Overall View
Leopard’s Fury is a romance that will send thrills to you from head to toe….a story that is packed with excitement, danger, intrigue and seeing two people find peace and healing in each other after a life of evil and hardship
I’ve never read anything by Christine Feehan, but I’m glad that you enjoyed this one. Especially when the previous two books were a bit of a let down.
Yes I do love getting these surprises especially when I was expecting it not to be that great and ended up in love with it.
Kitty!
I love the big felines!!!! They are so fun
I got this book for review but I have never read any of the other books in this series and have only read one other book by Feehan so I’m not sure if I’m going to read it but it does look interesting. Thanks for the review!
I think you really should pick it up Rowena….you would like it. If not you should pick up the earlier books in the series—they are AMAZING!!! Especially Savage Nature–that one is my favorite. Have you read this author before?
I have never read anything by this author. I really want to, but perhaps I will try a different one.
oh yes I think you would like her. She writes ‘fated love’ type books. I do recommend trying Savage Nature or her Drake Sisters series.
Ugh, you really make me want it, but I can see it’s well into the series and I do like to get those in order. So, eventually… 😉
haha I know how that goes!!!! I do recommend reading this series in order, its not a requirement, but it helps make the later books make more sense.
I can’t believe I haven’t read this author yet!
if you like pnr….than this author is a must.
This series sounds interesting and yet another author that I need to read! Great review! Glad you liked this, what a crazy long series ♥
oh Eva, it is pretty great. I definitely recommend this author if you like PNR, she got me hooked in the genre years ago. IF you think this series is long you need to check out her carpathian series which is over thirty books hehe but then that series she has been working on since the 90’s.
I keep thinking I want to try that Leopard series!!!
oh you need to hun!!! I think you would really love these books.
Yay! I can’t wait to read this after seeing your review. 🙂 Feehan is on a role this year with all of her releases, isn’t she?
