Happenings of Week 9 of 2022
This week I thought would be a strong reading week and it was nice having a long weekend with the holiday weekend. But then about mid-way through the week it turned around into something worse but not surprising. I predicted this would happen a year ago and I hate that I was right, while it’s devastating, I can also understand why Putin is doing this. Russia has been pretty insignificant in the past two decades, and so while Putin is an evil human, I also understand some of the motivation of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if China does the same towards Taiwan. I feel for the Ukrainian people who worked so hard to rebuild their country and now they are fighting with their lives to keep their freedom and independence. What really inspired me is their leader who is fighting with their people, and that is the type of leader I wished we had currently. The way these people are banding together, letting go of prejudices or social issues to focus on a higher purpose really humbles me and we could all learn from them and their strength and courage and that we need more men like that in our society willing to stand up and be true leaders and embrace their healthy masculinity. But I am not going to lie I fear that we are going to WWIII, and while its scary, I am also trying to endeavor to still live my life to the fullest and my blood pressure levels are pretty high so I am realizing I can’t focus on this too much and need to balance it out this week.

It is very sad what’s going on with the Ukrainian people. I totally agree, Putin is an evil man! Hope your blood pressure comes down, but if not you should mention it to your doctor.
I enjoy Kristen Ashley. Hope to get to one of her books again soon. Happy reading, Renee!
It is heartbreaking to see what is going on in Ukraine. I hope that the world can find peace. I hope that you have a great reading week ahead.
It’s terrible what is happening in the Ukraine, and I hope nothing happens in Taiwan (my daughter has family there). Very stressful.
I like all of your bookmarks! Wishing and hoping that things won’t escalate in Europe, and that we will have a better week coming up in the news. .
Yeah, that was building for a long time, you’re right. I’ve had sympathy for the people of Ukraine since we had several families move into my neighborhood when I was a kid and they spoke of the troubles even back in the 90’s. I have friends who live in Taiwan and worry too.
Take care and have a good week, Lola.
Ukraine’s people and its president are awe inspiring!
I do hate to agree, but, I feel we are headed for WWIII myself. It’s scary and sad.
