Happenings of Week 13 of 2022

This week was such an interesting week to say the least. I was really striving to be better about commenting and getting blog posts out. I did get a new monitor (will be replacing my old one this week so I have two nice ones and it has a super low blue light and man the colors are so different). I will take pictures this week and share them so you can see what my office space looks like. I love seeing what people’s office and blog space looks like and seeing our different styles. This week was also a great week for Romancelandia. The big news is that season 2 of Bridgerton was released on Netflix (I have a review/rant coming out tomorrow—it will have spoilers so fair warning when checking out that post if you haven’t seen the show yet). I will say I just binge-watched it yesterday evening and yes I watched it one evening but while I liked it I also was so disappointed in what they changed from the book. And most of that is because I prefer book to movie adaptations to stick with the storyline at least. But the soundtrack is amazing, so go LISTEN!! There was also the release of the second part of Gabriel’s Rapture from Passionflix and yes I LOVED it, and I know they are releasing Part 3 soon *crossing fingers*. Passionflix also released the actor who will be playing the role of Jesse Ward in the “This Man” film they are adapting and I LOVE Him so much, he is exactly who I picture when I read those books and say what you will about Passionflix ( I know they don’t have the type of imagery in their films as say Bridgerton has) but what I respect is that they keep true to the books and don’t change plot lines and I really respect that they want to do good for the authors and readers. But also another highlight is it was my birthday on Saturday. I had to work so didn’t do much for it, but I did binge Bridgerton and got take-out from my favorite restaurant with a small box of my favorite orange cremes. But I also am gifting myself lots of new computer stuff……new keyboard, mouse, monitors and will get a new office chair this week as well. So I have been saving to keep some nice good quality replacements and giving my desk a nice uplift. Especially since I am thinking of working from home once I get an adjustable height desk. Just because with gas prices going up and my job isn’t next door (30-minute drive), So we shall see what happens I am still on the fence about where I want to go here.

Current Reads

I really am enjoying my current reads, Exposed I have been trying to listen to for weeks, (I just haven’t been in the mood for audiobooks especially with my health lately but I am halfway through this so I plan on finishing it today). Don’t Hex and Drive is so fun, I am really loving the angst and the vampire/witch pairing and its an interracial romance which is a plus. The Cowboy Says Yes is the ARC read of the week and also a new to me author but yes I saw a cowboy and grabbed it. The Nicola Davidson is the finale in the trilogy and I am loving this author’s work so far. She writes real deep layered emotional erotic romance (I want to point out erotic romance is different from erotica and this is erotic romance)

Book Releases I am Excited For

How To Be A Wallflower by Eloisa James

The Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert (Not sure I will ever read this because I am not on board the monster romance yet) but I adore the author

Beauty and the Baller by Ilsa Madden Mills

Chase Wilde Comes Home by Jennifer Ryan (I read the ARC for this and if you love this author, you will enjoy this one)

Death Wish by K. Webster

A Man of Legend by Linda Broday

Favorite Book of the Week

I absolutely adored this book!! This book was superb. If you are looking for a more authentic feeling pirate historical romance, I recommend this. But check the trigger and content warnings before reading.

The Perks to Loving A Wallflower by Erica Ridley (Library eBook)

Happy birthday! You had an eventful week for sure! I’ve heard lots of grumbling about Bridgerton S2!

Can’t wait to see you setup. I put my laptop on a pillow on my lap. Nothing to see here. It’s awesome you have the option to work from home. I spend three hours a day and almost $400 a week commuting. I would love to stay home, even if only part of the time.

Happy birthday! I have a computer with a really wide monitor that I rarely use. I am usually doing everything on my Chromebook on the couch. I let my husband control the TV while I read so I have only seen the first episode of Bridgerton season 1. I am so bad at TV. I hope that you have a great week!

New computer gear/tech is so much fun. Enjoy it all! I don’t watch Bridgerton (nor have I read them), so I’ve been missing out on the discussions. That’s okay. My daughter and I finished a quirky show on Prime called Upload. There are two seasons (second one just came out). It’s original and interesting, with a side of humor.

Oh, I liked the Gabriel books. I don’t think I finished the series, though. I’d like to see what Passionflix did with it. I’ll have to renew my subscription. Hope you have a lovely birthday!
