About The Books

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Breathless Trilogy comes the first novel in the Enforcers series—a bold new direction in erotic romance that explores the games men and women play, and the price they’re willing to pay for pleasure.

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

The desire that exploded in Mastered continues its conflagration in Dominated—from the New York Times bestselling author of the Surrender Trilogy.

To save her, he had to betray her…

In Drake’s shadowy world, his enemies would exploit any weakness he had in order to bring him to his knees, and so he’s never allowed himself to care about anyone…never exhibited any vulnerability, and it made him a force to be reckoned with. Until Evangeline—his angel. A woman who slipped past his defenses like no one had ever managed. She was his to protect and ultimately, to do that, he had to do the unthinkable and drive the only good thing in his world away.

But he will stop at nothing to get her back…

Devastated and destroyed, Evangeline doesn’t know what made Drake turn on her in such a shocking manner. She only knows she’ll never be the same. He once freed her from all her inhibitions, only now she is a prisoner to never-ending pain. But when Drake finds her again, she realizes there is more to his world than she ever imagined, and she must decide if she can once more trust—and submit—to the man who holds her wounded heart in his hands. And he must convince her of just how far he’ll go to regain her love and forgiveness.

From the author of Mastered and Dominated comes the third of the Enforcers novels. Kept is the searing story of a woman who finds sanctuary in surrender…

He can’t change who he is.

A horrific childhood has made Silas the man he is today: dangerous, distrustful and demanding. He’s lived in self-imposed solitude, convinced that no woman could ever accept his need for absolute control—in business and pleasure. That is, until a young violinist walks into one of his buildings and into his life.

She can’t change what she wants.

Hayley has been struggling to fulfill her father’s dying wish: for her to attend a prestigious music school in New York City. But even working multiple jobs, she can’t afford the tiniest of apartments. Seeing her hopeless and near tears, Silas vows to help and protect her, no matter the cost to himself. But when Hayley meets his every demand with unwavering acceptance and love, he is overwhelmed by her goodness and gentle spirit. He knows that the dark stain on his soul can never be erased—and rather than risk destroying the most beautiful person he’s ever experienced, he’ll have to do the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. Let her go. But he’s totally unprepared for the lengths to which Hayley will go to fight for his love and for a future brighter than the sun…

My Review

Mastered

In the first installment, we have a story that begins with two opposites from each other. We have a heroine who is innocent and a hero who is more than experienced and likes to be in control. He is drawn to Evangeline in ways that he can’t quite explain. We have a couple that join forces as their attraction and connection to each other is one that neither of them can resist. But what we discover are characters that can’t resist the temptation they find in each other’s arms.

I will be honest in this book, I picked it up on a whim, as I have been wanting to work through Maya Bank’s backlist, and I absolutely adored it so much. I just couldn’t resist and this story just sucked me right in. there is something that is so appealing how this type of set up of a romance especially in a more contemporary romance setting. I love a anti hero, and even though we don’t discover what Drake is really all about, we just know it’s not completely lawful. But I was so intrigued by his complicated character and seeing that genuine love that Evangeline has for him. And I will warn you that this book does contain a cliffhanger, which actually shocked me because I don’t think I have ever read a cliffhanger from this author so make sure you have their conclusion in book two ready to pick up there. But I truly loved the first part of their story and seeing them building something real together.

Dominated

In book two of the Enforcer series, we have the conclusion to Drake and Evangeline’s story and it starts off after the first book ends, so I won’t say much about the summary. Just that our hero breaks the heart of our heroine, and has to do some groveling and prove himself to her. I really wondered how Maya Banks would work that into the story and how it would be implemented. I really felt like the groveling sections were done so well. Now my main issue with this book is that the hero does it twice….it hurts his girl AGAIN and yeah I can see it iin the first book, there was a reason for it as she was in danger and he was acting on instinct in order to protect her. BUT I really didn’t like to see it repeated the way that it was. Which is one of ht main reasons that keep this book at a five-star read for me. Because normally a book so addicting that really pulls me in so completely to a story will do that for me. But I just didn’t care for that conflict at the end. I will say that I also enjoyed the way that this author implemented the way that there is a friendship that forms between Evangeline and Drake’s men and brothers. I just love the bond that gets created between them all but most especially Silas and Maddox. Maya Banks definitely has that talent in crafting those stories that just create the most endearing connections whether they are romantic or platonic.

Kept

This is the final book in the trilogy and this is where we get Silas’ book I was very pleased to see that he got a story (but I am so curious if there are other books maybe a connecting series of the other men because I need it) and this is the story which features our beloved Silas and his lady, who is in school fulfilling her dream of being a violinist, but she is struggling and in need of a white knight, and Silas is drawn to her and takes her in and offers her a refuge she greatly needs. But their relationship is slow going, but the attraction is real and even though they are complete opposites in their backgrounds, there is something vibrant that grows between them. But Silas has a past and he also has a duty to Drake that holds responsibilities and great dangers. And Silas wonders if his woman can accept him fully.

I honestly couldn’t get enough of this one here and see all the wonderful aspects that bring this book together. Like with the previous two books, there are definitely angst-filled moments but I was so endeared in seeing how it was portrayed. I did love this relationship where the heroine is a violinist and I rarely see these types of heroines so I was purely delighted to have something different that we don’t normally see. I was really intrigued to see how this one would play out and even though there were moments wher eI felt certain moments of angst was unnecessary I did feel like this story really conveyed everything I need in a contemporary written by this author. I found them so sweet together, Silas is such a wonderful hero, who is so in need of love and connection and I love what he finds in this one.

Maya Banks is an author I’ve meant to try but never gotten to. You’re making me think I should hurry up and do that! Is this a good series to start with or is there a better place to start? This certainly sounds good.

I’ve read most of Maya Bank’s novels and will probably revisit some one day. I’ve kept them all. They’re that good.

My favourite series is her KGI novels and when her last in this series to be published wasn’t published, I was disappointed; however, in finding the reasons behind the constant delay of this last in the series- Wherever You Are- I only wish to let this wonderful author know that she has given her readers many years of enjoyment regardless if no further novels are forthcoming.

I’m disappointed in her publisher for miss managing her personal and professional needs.

I wish Maya a continued road to health and happiness ‘ wherever she may find it’ 😉and thanks for all the hours over the years, emerging myself in her varied scenes and plots…and characterisations.

    Will miss this author..
