This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!

What is Throwback Thursday? Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday. 2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008

Honey Behr had to find an easy mark, fast. She had spent her last dollar buying a riverboat ticket and now she didn’t have one coin to rub against another. So when asked to take the place of a mail-order bride with cold feet, the bold and unfettered blonde didn’t hesitate to play the part. But when she realized her game was going arwy when she rushed headlong into the arms of the law.

Sheriff Luke MacKenzie had sent for a bride, a demure, motherly type, someone who would be able to take good care of his child. But when he saw the gleam in Honey’s eyes, he knew he was in trouble.

Why Luke?

I read this one so MANY years ago, and unfortunately, they haven’t converted it to digital, so you can only get it in print. But loved how Ana Leigh wrote these books here, such classic historicals and must-read if you especially love the mix of historical and westerns. In Luke we have a story of a runaway mail order bride, a single father who is a lawman and some sexy chemistry.

About Ana Leigh

Wisconsin natives, Ana Leigh and her husband, Don, have three children and five grandchildren. From the time of the publication of her novel, LOVE'S LONG JOURNEY, by Leisure Books in 1981, Ana successfully juggled her time between her chosen career and her hobby of writing, until she officially retired in September of '94 to devote more time to her "hobby." In the past she has been a theater cashier (who married the boss,) the head of an accounting department, a corporate officer, and the only female on the Board of Directors of an engineering firm.

This best selling author (New York Times and USA Today bestsellers lists) received a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award nomination for Storyteller of the Year in 1991, the BOOKRAK 1995-1996 Best Selling Author Award for her May release, THE MACKENZIES: LUKE, the Romantic Times 1995-1996 Career Achievement Award for Western Historical Romance, and the Romantic Times 1996-1997 Career Achievement Award for Historical Storyteller of the Year. Ana still considers her proudest achievement as that of homemaker.
