This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.
What will she bid?
Desperate for riches, penniless Michael Tremayne, Marquess of Falconridge, is willing to auction away his only possession of value–his title–to the highest bidding American father. But Kate Rose was the last woman he had in mind to marry. The willful and headstrong Kate requires from marriage the one thing Michael is unable to give–powerful, unending love.
Kate refuses to give into her husband’s sensual demands until he has earned her love. Michael is not one to back down from a challenge, but neither does he believe in playing by the rules. While he is unfamiliar with love, he is extremely intimate with passion. He is determined to convince Kate that one can substitute for the other. And what better way to convince her than by patiently and skillfully seducing her? Kate never thought marriage would be so mischievous . . . or that her husband would persuade her to be so sinful.
Why Just Wicked Enough?
This is a classic Lorraine Heath novel, its the secon book in her Rogues and Roses series which is one of her less known series. I love this battle of love that these two go through. Never has marriage been so much fun!! Seriously Kate and Michael were a hoot. Seeing their fun bantering and I love how character driven their romance is. Seriously…I think this book is a must for a re read and SOON!!
