This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday? Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday. 2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008
The Played For High Stakes–Passion, Honor, And Revenge…
Damien, Lord Falon, made his ruthless proposal to Alexa Garrick at a gaming table where he’d cheated the exquisite young heiress out of a fortune–one night with him would discharge her debt. Yet, as claimed his prize, the handsome earl fought a craving for more than Alexa’s body..and when a twist of fate turned seduction into matrimony, rapture and rage warred within him. How could he love the woman whose flirtation had destroyed his brother?
Alexa knew of Damien’s French blood, scandalous liaisons, and the whispers that branded his a smuggler. Though she was playing with fire, the dark, devilish earl’s hungry embrace plucked at her heartstrings with a haunting song of desire. But was Damien spinning a web of deceit and treason, as he brought her to his surfswept castle?
From London’s glitter to the dangerous decadence of Napoleon’s Paris, Kat Martin will dazzle you with her riches, most sensuous romance ever!
Why Devil’s Prize?
This book was such fun and *sigh* I adored the old school feel that can hold up today. I only read this one a few years ago and had zero issues with any of the elements. But then I am pretty objective so what do I know lol And they did such a great job on the cover redesign, 90% of the time, they don’t. So snaps to them for giving it the cover it deserves. But check out the stepback cover….its GORGEOUS!!! Such beautiful artwork done there–Click HERE for a look
