Throwback Thursday (94) Through A Dark Mist

by | Aug 24, 2017 | Throwback Thursday | 8 comments

This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

So, the novel I’m featuring is…

RISING ABOVE AN EAGLE’S EYRIE, THE SOARING PASSION OF FORBIDDEN LOVE

As the misty forest quivers with the deadly flight of arrows, a tale of revenge and fated passion unfolds. An outlaw known as the Black Wolf of Lincoln dares to stand before the slender, golden loveliness of Lady Servanne de Briscourt—and in one swift, trembling moment, the future of a kingdom is changed.

Betrothed to Prince John’s champion, the Dragon Lord of Bloodmoor Keep, Servanne becomes the unwilling pawn in a treacherous game…and the defiant love of a dangerous rogue whose secrets can rock a throne. Together they will be swept into the rich pageantry of royal power, throwing wide the huge gates of Bloodmoor to unleash the fury of a thousand armored knights. All the ancient hatreds spawned by a family’s sins are revealed, threatening the lives—and the reckless love—of the Black Wolf and the only woman who can tame his bold, wild heart

Why Through A Dark Mist?

I read this book many years ago, and I have to say its still one of my all time favorites. This author is brilliant, and I do love those robin hood type settings. The plot is intense, has great historical details, and the romance is beyond swoon worthy which is typical of Canham.

Love the idea of a TBT for Historicals! 🙂 I don’t think I’ve ever read Through a Dark Mist but it definitely sounds like something I’d enjoy. I’ll be checking it out! My choice for TBT would be Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas. It’s Evie and Sebastian…need I say more? lol

I have not read this, but love that you can both swoon and historic detail. 🙂

What a fun idea! I have been trying to remember all the books I read when I first got into romance years and years ago. But it was before Goodreads, and I read so much. And I didn’t keep track of any of it! I’ve never even heard of Through a Dark Mist before.

What a fun meme! I have read a lot of great romances from back in the day. This one is new to me although the author is somewhat familiar.

Oh what a fun meme!! This makes me think of all the great historical Jude Deveraux and Nora Roberts I used to read in college (well before 2008….geez this makes me feel old!)

I looooooooved this book!!!! It is one of my all-time favorites. Actually it was the first romance novel I ever read! I was sixteen, had just gotten a Kindle for Christmas, and the book was free. 😀 I loved it so much that I never read the remaining two books in the series, if that makes sense. Maybe someday! I like the cover with the sword. 😉 Lovely post, Renee!

    Have a great day. =)
