This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Once upon a time . . .

in a kingdom high in the Pyrenees, three young princesses were forced to flee the chaos in their land—vanishing without a trace and lost to their people . . . until the day a courageous prince can bring the princesses home.

One of Scotland’s most dangerous men, Robert MacKenzie is dazzled by the enchanting beauty who rides into the town he is sworn to defend. Though he is wary of the exquisite stranger, Clarice stirs emotions within him that Robert buried deeply years before. And now he must have her at any cost, vowing to gain her trust through the powers of his sensuous seduction.

Torn between her need to protect her secrets and her aching desire for the dark, tormented earl of Hepburn, Clarice is pulled into Robert’s glamorous world . . . and into his perilous plan for justice and revenge. And with the winds of treachery swirling around them, a runaway princess must draw Robert’s heart from the shadows and make him believe in happily-ever-after

Why Some Enchanted Evening?

This is one of those books that you quickly fall in love with because the focus is character driven and Christina Dodd does that so very well. Its a sexy romantic love story, its engaging and a quick read so you just can’t go wrong especially when it deals with a runaway princess and a handsome highlander….

This sounds amazing. I’ve never read anything by Christina Dodd, but I’m thinking this would be a good place to start. Is it Regency or a different time period?

Still haven’t read a book by this author. I love tormented characters. 🙂

Loved this one! A princess and a highlander are almost always a guaranteed win. 🙂

I have read her Contemporaries and love them (Virtue Falls series is amazing!) but I have never read any of her historicals. Sounds like I will start with this!
