This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.
So, the novel I’m featuring is…
After spending three London seasons searching for a husband, Daisy Bowman’s father has told her in no uncertain terms that she must find a husband. Now. And if Daisy can’t snare an appropriate suitor, she will marry the man he chooses—the ruthless and aloof Matthew Swift.
Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, and she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone… anyone… other than Matthew. But she doesn’t count on Matthew’s unexpected charm… or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she has always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams.
But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered… one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy’s wildest fantasies
Why Scandal In Spring?
This book is beyond amazing!! I love how unique and how much it resembles our heroine. Such a charming love story that is the perfect finale to an astounding series.
OMG! I feel like I saw this book in a thrift store the last time I went. I was looking for something for my Halloween outfit and I went in the books section for fun… There are so many HR novels, including a lot of Kleypas’s old ones. 😀 Great choice, Renee!
Have a lovely weekend. =)

Oh yes,,,,,her older romances are always in thrift stores and I love that!! Have you read this series yet?:
I have not! I am an epic fail when it comes to Kleypas. D: I have the first book in her Wallflowers series though!
Love it! Actually, I love the whole series. Kinda makes me want to go back and read it all over again! LOL 🙂
haha I know right? There is nothing that compares to read this series!! Definitely one of the best romance works in my opinion.
Yep! Great pick. 🙂 Kleypas is a huge favorite, but I hadn’t heard of her books until a few years ago, sadly, so I’m glad you’re highlighting one.
Thanks Sophia. If you haven’t read this one, I know you would love it.
