This meme was once hosted at Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and hasn’t been active for a while now. So I decided since I have a fierce love for historical romance, to start it up again. Anyone is welcome to join in if you like because I would love to see your pick of the week for a throwback historical romance that you loved!!
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past — usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin from Love Saves The World, Mary from Buried Under Romance, are fans of historical romance, this is a way to honor our favorite genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.
So, the novel I’m featuring is…
Griff Knighton’s found the perfect way to avoid being trapped into marriage with one of the Earl of Swanlea’s daughters: he’ll swap identities with his man of affairs during their next visit to Swan Park, and be free to pursue his own desires.
But Griff didn’t reckon on the brazen, voluptuous Rosalind, who could tempt even a saint into sinning, and Griff is no saint. She was determined to unmask him.
Why A Dangerous Love?
This book is simply romantic, sexy and the bantering is contageous. When I first read this book I just couldn’t get enough of the wit and the charm with some fun shakespeare moments!!
Sabrina Jeffries is always a good choice! 🙂 I think I’d pick Christina Dodd’s Some Enchanted Evening, which was the first book of hers I read. Super romantic & steamy, it was a great beginning to the Lost Princesses series.
That is a wonderful book as well!!! I haven’t read it in years but remember loving it.
Yay, awesome meme. I’m planning to read Kleypas’s book you recommended new week. I’ll join next week. ?❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh yay…which book of kleypas…’ devil in winter? Or was it a different one? I just know you will love her work
I am all for bantering. That is alwasy my favorite.
Bantering is always a plus right? And this author is superb at it.
I stillllllll need to read one of her books *hangs head*
I love the name Griff/Griffin! And I love sexy romantic banter. I’ve read one or two books by this author but they were just okay for me. Perhaps I will try some of her older work, like this one. 😀 Great choice, Renee!
Have a lovely weekend. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I’m loving that old school, romantic cover.
For What It’s Worth
Yay Jeffries! She is so much fun 🙂 I need to get to her backlist for sure.
