Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: New Years Goals and Resolutions

by | Jan 8, 2018 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 14 comments

Its year 2018 and can you believe we are already beginning a new year? I just love the feeling of a fresh start and I love be able to look back at the past year and the things I want to do or focus on a bit more in the new year. There is a great feeling of newness and energy that I always look forward to every single year.

This year I want to be able to focus more on myself, to become a strong and healthier ME. So my goals are pretty simple this year, not as extensive as previous years.

First goal: Be healthy and fit. I have started to eat better, to be more healthy and cut out sugars less, less carbs and more lean proteins and grains. I have started up the BBG program by Kayla Itsines and her fiancee who both have degrees in fitness and health and put this program together. Aren’t they so adorable together??!!Β  I am so excited, since I have loved doing this program two years ago and it works!!! I even got some nice defined abs, but more than looking better than I ever have before, I felt stronger and happier. I want to get to that place again. While living in Texas, I gained 50 lbs, and that is more than I have ever gained in my whole life. So I want to lose the fat NOW!! hehe What I love about the BBG program, it has a app which offers meal plans, workout videos and guides, you can even track your water intake so you make sure you stay hydrated which is vital when working out. If you want to do this with me, and I could totally use a partner to keep me on track, let me know or check out her website especially if you like workouts that are tough but short and fun.

Now my other goal is become more happier in life. To start exploring nature, doing more meditation and yoga and begin adult coloring again. I also plan on becoming more social and meeting more people again. Most of my friends here in Utah are all married with kids. I just don’t have much in common with them anymore. So I plan on going out more to meet people and make friends and date because I miss MEN ladies.

As for the blog, I want to do more with social media and be more consistet with commenting. I also want to polish up my site a bit more for my readers.

What are your resolutions for the New Year in 2018? Any fun plans or goals you would like to share? I would love to know!! πŸ™‚

All of that :O I want to do all of that, too. Well, I’m pretty consistent with my blog but all the other things? So in. Time is always a problem with school but that BBG program sounds great.

These are great goals. When I was younger I was never into New Year Resolutions, but now I am. I haven’t completely figured out my goals, but mainly I just want to be happier this year than I was last year. Seriously, 2017 just sucked and I’m ready for a fresh start. I know what you mean about man of friends having children now. I am still friends with them, but it’s different. Best of luck!

those are awesome goals! I hope you achieve everything you want this year, it doesn’t seem like a stretch at all. This year I am trying to get fit and healthy myself. I hit 30 and realized I am so not happy with my body. Got a spin bike, some resistance bands and that was before 2018, so far, still using it so kind of excited about it πŸ˜€

It is a fantastic goal and I wish you lots of luck. We’ve cut out fried foods and most of our sweets at our house. In have heart issues so I’ve cut out salt in pretty much everything. I don’t cook with it all that much anymore, amazingly nobody notices either. ?

I do my One Word thing instead of resolutions and I was inspired by a picture that had the words Dream, Inspire, Harmony and Courage and I think I want to move forward with that tone even if I don’t have specific goals in mind. It’s more trying to survive the negativity and to find a way to to happy while that is around you.

Good luck with all your goals! Feeling better and getting out in nature is always a good thing!

These are great goals. I am sure you will do really well with them. I try to really watch what I eat and get out and walk every day. My goals this year are more focused on getting caught up with my backlog of arcs and not taking on more than I can handle.
