Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions: Must Read For The Christmas Season

by | Dec 5, 2016 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 21 comments

I can hardly believe that it is December already but now I have the perfect excuse to put up the Christmas tree and lights all over, homemade egg nog, having Christmas tunes on the stereo and to be able to read some festive holiday romances!! I look forward to this every single year. I love the sweet and warm romances that Christmas and winter like themes convey. Here is my list of what I hope to read this winter, some of these are re reads and some are from my TBR!!

True Blue Cowboy Christmas by Nicole Helm

true-blue I have been wanting to try out this author for quite a while. I have a couple of her others books on my kindle, but I am SO grabbing this one up!!

A Bad Boy For Christmas by Jessica Lemmon

I have had this book on my shelf for over a year and I have no idea why I haven’t picked it up yet however this year I definitely want to read it so badly. Love a good bad boy and Lemmon writes them so well.

A Wedding For Christmas by Lori Wilde

Oh I just love how Wilde has written her holiday romances in the past, and I highly recommend if you haven’t picked them up….its a must!!! They are so well done.

It Happened One Night by Lisa Dale

This was one of the books I recently grabbed up from Half Priced Books, and it will make such a perfect winter read

Mackenzie Family Christmas by Jennifer Ashley

This is a re read for me, and I just LOVE this book. These Mackenzies are a hoot, and its so fun seeing them all together. And I can’t resist some more good times between Ian and Beth and their little kiddies.

Visit From Sir Nicholas by Victoria Alexander

I first read this book years ago, and its still one of my favorites to read!!! It has such a wonderful Christmas theme to it…especially if you love A Christmas Carol. And such a sweet romance too.

A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas

Now This is a must read for me every single year, I grab this one up because I LOVE it so very much.

A Cold Creek Christmas Story

I have heard so much about this author lately, especially her Christmas books. And I can’t resist the blurb for this one so I have already grabbed it and am ready to read it.

I’ve read & enjoyed the Lori Wilde, RaeAnne Thayne and Jennifer Ashley (Ian!!) titles but I’m going to have to grab Nicole Helm’s newest. I’ve heard great things about it! I had fun with Nancy Naigle’s Christmas Joy and of course Jill Shavis’s The Trouble With Mistletoe and One Snowy Night. Sarah Morgan’s Miracle on 5th Avenue was also a good one with a nice amount of holiday spirit.

  2. Carole's Random Life

Kleypas is such a great author. I do love A Wildflower Christmas. I agree that Lori Wilde does holiday novels well. I have read two of her holiday novels and really liked them. A Wedding for Christmas was a really nice book. I am pretty sure that I have Lisa Dale’s book sitting unread on my kindle so I need to get to that one. Enjoy!

    • Lover Of Romance

I LOVE Kleypas as well, she is just fantastic right? And The Wallflower Christmas is such a charming read.

  3. Quinn's Book Nook

I’m so glad you put this post together. I’ve been craving christmas romances but I haven’t found a ton that have grabbed me. I definitely want to look into that True Blue Cowboy Christmas even though cowboys aren’t my favorite. Also, the hero is named Thack, which is really weird. But still, it looks cute.

    • Lover Of Romance

Thank you Quinn. I highly recommend you try out some of these. I really think you would like Alexander’s book. So charming.

Yeah Thack is a weird name but unique and different and I do like it when authors experiment a bit with names of characters.

  4. LilyElement

mmm I think I’ll be grabbing A Bad Boy for Christmas! 😀

  5. Sophia Rose

This is a good list of Christmas reads. I’ve actually not read any of these, but three of those are on my radar. I’m terribly curious about RaeAnne Thayne’s Christmas ones, too.

    • Lover Of Romance

thank you Sophia. I definitely recommend you pick any one of these up. I especially think you would like A Visit From Sir Nicholas and RaeAnne’s book.

  6. Cyn @ Bookmunchies

I love a Bad boy for Christmas & a Wallflower Christmas! The others look really cute, I’ll have to check some out! Thanks for sharing!

    • Lover Of Romance

Oh yay!!! Isn’t Wallflower Christmas so wonderful? I just love what Kleypas did with that one.

And I am pretty excited to pick up Bad Boy For Christmas since Lemmon always writes her characters so well.

  7. AngieElle @ Ba_BAMB

I can’t believe I’ve never read the Wallflower Christmas story. I read that series as the books came out, and I adored it! Also, I read the first Mackenzie book earlier this year. Holy smokes. What a fantastic read! It’s nice to know there’s some holiday goodness down the road. 🙂

    • Lover Of Romance

Oh yay for the wallflowers!!! You definitely need to read Wallflower Christmas, so fun seeing them all get together.

I am so thrilled you loved Beth and Ian’s book….so dang good right? The rest of the series is just as wonderful!!!

    • Lover Of Romance

oh Lemmon is wonderful, she writes great heroes. I definitely recommend trying some of the others.

      • Anna@herding cats&burning soup

I’ve read most of them 😀 She’s one of my favorites! I do have one or two I missed I think. I need to get to Goodreads and check for sure.

  8. Bookworm Brandee

I grabbed A Bad Boy for Christmas today. And I know I have MacKenzie Family Christmas somewhere. I don’t have anything holiday-themed specifically lined up to read so I suppose I should just say that I hope to read at least a few of the ones I have! *haha*

  9. Lola

I am only reading my first Christmas read at the moment, but I hope to read one more at least. My current read is Trouble with the Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis, it’s really good so far. I like the Christmassy reads, but somehow I never seem to get around to reading them this time fo the year. I like the look of your list and hope you get to read a bunch fo them this year!

  10. Eva

YES! I’ve read so many holiday romances but none of these yet! Excited to give them a try!
