So today I want to talk about the love for the Alpha Male. Now I will admit I LOVE these alpha’s. Beta’s are nice every once in a while, but quite frankly I love a well written alpha. I think the biggest reason is I admire a man with a sense of leadership, strength and courage. Alpha’s don’t apologize to anyone, they aren’t ashamed of who they are, are true leaders and the alpha males that are written in a super healthy manner, are my CATNIP!! I can’t seem to get enough of them. And honestly, my dream is to marry a healthy mannered alpha male (and yes they are out there) I love seeing a man embrace his masculinity and fight for what is right. Now I am not always a fan of some alpha males that some authors write, especially the jerks or the a**holes at all. But I am drawn to the strong male characters that embrace the best parts of themselves and don’t hold back. So today I want to share a few of my favorites that I have been drawn to.
KA writes some of the best males(heroes) in my opinion. Come on and lets battle it out! LOL But seriously some(and many of her heroes) are so healthy in their masculinity. I loved the hero especially in Heaven and Hell. Sampson is my kind of man for sure. One ….he is accomplished, wealthy, happy in his identity and fully masculine. Two he stands up to the heroine. He tells her when he thinks she is wrong or not treating him fairly. He doesn’t expect too much, but won’t be abused and I adore that he sets healthy boundaries. He isn’t a jerk about it either, just honest and real about it.
Is there any character more impressive than Raphael? I am guessing NOT because *whew* he makes you wish characters like him were really REAL and to marry that man LOL I just love his confidence, his strength, and going after what he wants and fighting to keep the woman he loves happy and healthy in every way.
Alessio is the epitome of the alpha male and boy is he delicious ….he is the head of the mafia and his own man, and doesn’t apologize for anyone. But I love what he is willing to do to protect and see his lady safe and happy. They go through hell, but he doesn’t let anyone or anything stop him from what is most important.
Drake Donovan is one of the best heroes that this author has written and I think no matter your thoughts on alpha males….all would adore Drake Donovan. I love how fierce and protective he is, and boy is he badass BUT he is also supportive, sweet and sexy. Out of all the leopards of the series, he is the most stable and healthy.
In Warprize…KEIR is one sexy all get out Alpha Male. At first you don’t know what to think of this barbarian but when you learn the real truth…. your heart just softens into a puddle. He is sweet and tender but protective and a strong leader. I love a man that isn’t afraid to court his woman and treat her right. And we see the beauty in this process in this story and how much he admires Lara and what he is willing to do for her.
Yes I am mentioned a 2nd KA book (but seriously she is the queen of the alpha male) but this type of hero is the most unique alpha male I have ever read. Its a alpha sub. Which I didn’t even know was possible, but she makes it possible. It conveys the idea that just because a man is submissive in the bedroom and likes certain kink, doesn’t mean he is weak or not in control. And yeah she shows that the males are the ones in control and don’t let go of their alpha like tendacies.
