Tea and Biscuits Book Discussion: Bookish Christmas Book Tag

by | Dec 7, 2020 | Tea and Biscuits Discussions | 0 comments

Tea and Biscuits Book Discussions is a feature here on Addicted To Romance where there is talk of books, blogging, and reading topics….so come on in and join in on the discussion

So today I would like to participate in a book tag and lets be honest that Christmas and last month of the year, it perfect timing for these. And frankly….they are just pure fun!! So this tag I found through Meghans Whimsical Reads

I tag anyone who has a fondness for Christmas and End of Year Tags!!

Father Christmas: Name a book you received as a child that you treasure to this day.

This was a really difficult one because I really want to go romance focused or as romance focused as I can. So I am going to share this one:

This story is simply romantic, sweet and heartfelt. This is a book that I was given by my family, probably my dad since he is the romantic one in the family. Its a story about a young woman who is put in a bad place by her family. Her love interest is a law student (his parents are in a previous book) Matthew is fascinated by Melody but knows she is hiding secrets and only wants to show her what love and support and the season of Christmas is all about.

The Ghost of Christmas Past: Is there a book or series you like to revisit each year at Christmas time?

Yes there are always a group of books I just love reading around Christmas time, I have no clue if this year I will be able to do this. But there are a few books I read this time of year just about every year.

These three are just classics for me and I love doing a re read of them all every single year. I doubt I will get to them this year because of other demands reading wise, but we shall see. Highly recommend all three of these.

Christmas Tree: Name a series that reaches new heights with every entry.

I have read my share of long series especially that has its own capabilities of reaching those “new heights” but the one I could share just on the top of my head would be the psy changeling series, Nalini Singh has done such a brilliant job with this one and each time I read a new book she releases I am so humbled by her talent and growth within this world.

Friends and Family: Name a book with fantastic characters.

There are so many LOL I am so drawn into books that have great connections with each other. But this one is the most prominent in my mind. I adore the friendship of these men, I love how close knit they are and protect each other, willing to take risks and unconditionally support each other. Its so sexy to see it and this duo writing team did a phenomenal job with it.

Decorations: Name a book with a gorgeous cover you would proudly display on your shelves.

I honestly couldn’t ever just list one, although I did stick with just books I read in 2020, so here are some of my favorites that I love and adore their covers!!

Christmas Cards: Name a book that carries a great message.

I couldn’t help but adore this book so deeply, I loved it so much I purchased it because it was so on point to the type of romances I love to read. This book was pure perfection. The message I loved about this one was balance and acceptance in a relationship. The hero is so supportive of the heroine, he understands her, fits her completely and encourages her in all the right ways.

Ice and Snow: Name a book that you were hoping to love but which ultimately left you feeling cold.

This was my first Kennedy Ryan and I was expecting so much from this, I honestly thought this would have been a 5 star read and yeah I DNF’d it. So it was one of the hardest reading experiences this year for me.

Christmas Lunch: Name a book that was big and intimidating but oh so worth it in the end.

I will say that this is one of the most intimidating books I read this year but I can tell you that I LOVED it so fiercely. It was so deep and riveting and HOT —I never thought KA could make this work but her alpha submissive heroes are the BOMB!!

Mince Pies: Name a book you found sweet and satisfying.

I simply adored this book, (yes I know I still need book two) it was so adorable and Talia Hibbert is superb in how she writes her stories and how relatable they are just on a human level.

Presents: What book do you wish you could give everyone to read?

This book is a gift to the romance community, I just LOVE everything about it especially the healthy dynamics within their relationship.
