Taylor Swift Midnights Book Tag

This is a book tag that I originally found on Instagram. This post challenge has been ALL over the book community, and I challenge ALL of you to participate because I would love to see all of your top 13 choices! The Original Book Tag can be found HERE

So the big part of this book tag that is so important is to choose 13 books based on each of these songs, and these 13 books are the books that kept you past midnight reading, meant something meaningful to you, changed your existence as it were! So below I am going to share the books that changed it for me.

Lavender Haze-A book you will always love and defend

Fate brought them together. His past may tear them apart.

This is a book I will always love and protect! And really I would put the whole series here. Jake and Randy hold a special place in my heart and they are my all time FAVORITE couple. This book kept me up all night, way past midnight, and it was so profound in so many ways.

Maroon-A Spicy Book

A man doesn’t live without his soul. Take that woman from me, and that’s what you’ll see. Exactly what the Council strove for. A Coyote without a soul.

This book is gorgeous but man is it STEAMY!!! This will burn down the house but it also has so many emotional moments and beautiful relationship development and tons of heart!

anti hero-undesirable narrator

A better wife, a better queen. Not even in a dream could I create better than you.

He is my king, he is my warrior, he is my husband and I am proud to say above all… he is mine.

This book is so PRECIOUS and I will be honest there was a lot this author had to do to redeem the hero for me because yeah it’s challenging. But KA used her magic in this book and it worked 100% for me.

Snow on the beach-an unexpected surprise

And just like that, I sense a circle closing. Back to the beginning, and near to the end

This book I read this year and it CHANGED my life. It just was so unexpected and I honestly thought this book was overhyped. But yeah it’s worth the hype and I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did.

your on your own kid-a character that really needs a hug

There is no one else I would have picked for him. Ox, you will do wondrous things together. He will be a leader, and as an Alpha, he will put the pack above all else. But remember that you’ll always be his heart and soul.

But I swear to god, if you choose me, I will make sure that you know the weight of your worth every day for the rest of our lives because that’s what this is. I am going to be a fucking Alpha one day, and there is no one I’d rather have by my side than you. It’s you, Ox. For me, it’s always been you.body text

There was something so special and unique about this book, and it literally altered my universe! I couldn’t put it down and was so intense and beautiful!

midnight rain-star crossed lovers

Pestilence’s eyes glint brightly. And it’s not wholly loving that I’m seeing. It’s love and anguish and a possessive desperation and—strangest of all—an apology.

“I cannot decide if you are a toxin or a tonic,” he says, lifting a hand to my cheek. “Only that you plague my thoughts and fill my veins.”

I could never say anything to bring this book the justice that it deserves! I absolutely was so captivated by this one and it will literally make you go on a journey that you least expect to love so deeply.

question-grumpyxsunshine

I was dead until you found me, though I breathed. I was sightless, though I could see. And then you came…and I was awakened.

I’m not broken, I’m ruined. Do you understand the difference? With broken maybe you can fix things. Ruined? All you can do is wait to bury me

Anyone who has read this book knows why this book is so unique and different. It has so many beautiful moments and there is such character growth that these two go on and is so deep and heartwrenching.

vigilante shit-favorite character out for revenge

There are two things a man should never do,

— keep a woman waiting,

and claim to understand her.

He loved her more than honor, even more than his pride. For a man who had always been so completely self-possessed, the realization was a unpleasant shock.

This is the BEST revenge romance and was so well done in many of these small building moments between these two. Its so well layered.

bejeweled-strong character development

It’s easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you’d be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it’s lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul

You know, it’s amazing to me the wounds we carry for eternity. But what has fascinated me most these last few years is how the right person can heal them. I remember a wise man once said to me that everyone deserves to be loved. Even you.

This book has one of the best character development in a romance that I have ever read, granted its a MASSIVE book, but seeing the way Acheron comes into his own and becomes who he is just is superb in every way!

labyrint-second chance romance

My sweet Fairy.” He exhaled on a painful breath. “You can’t imagine darkness. You are the only light I’ve ever known.

My soul recognized your soul—and was reborn. I knew there was something behind those eyes, beneath those gloves, that would give back to me what I’ve been missing all these years.

This is one of those books that will change your LIFE! I guarantee it. This will deliver in ways that you won’t expect and will also have such a refreshing feel to this.

karma-favorite full circle moments or parallels

I wouldn’t be complete without her, and neither would Embry. She was made to be my wife, and we were made to be a three.

There’s only what should have been from the beginning, which is this love the three of us have found like a city in the desert, strange and holy. Empty and waiting for us

This whole trilogy is on another level! just seeing all of the depths that are delivered and reading them together definitely has that “full circle feeling”.

sweet nothing-favorite fluffy/cozy read

I’m not sure how he does it. Somehow, he makes me feel like every molecule in my body has learned how to smile. I like it. I like him.

Since we met, every touch, every kiss, every talk between us has come naturally. Effortless in every way. Without motive or expectation.

This book makes for the best comfort cozy read! I just adored this book in every way and it was so gentle and poignant.

mastermind-perfect worldbuilding and storytelling

The last thing Aodhan felt before sleep sucked him under were Illium’s fingers stroking through his hair, a tender caress that was wanted, was beloved.

Then he kissed him. Kissed him hard and deep, his hand fisted in the silken blue tipped black of his hair and his wings wrapped around him. Kissed him until Illium groaned and grabbed fistfulls of the back of his shirt. Pushing his back up against a tree, Aodham braced one arm over Illium’s head while spreadhing his wings to block out the night and he kept on kissing him. It should’ve been awkward, new, but it wasn’t. It was the most perfect kiss in all his existence. Because….it was Illium.

To know a person’s bad habits along with their good ones? To see them at their worst and at their best? To fight and play with them through all the seasons of this life? And to still wake up every morning happy to see their face? This is love.

Aodhan moved close enough to take Illium’s chin in his hand, tug gently until his best friend in the world would look at him again. The gold shone with a sheen of wet, the same emotion rocks in Aodhan’s throat. “Always, Blue” he said, his voice husky “Me and you? We’re always.”

There is such beauty in how Nalini Singh wrote this story, it was pure perfection for me! I adored every moment and this is the type of story that was so stunning in its detail and deep in its intricate layers that were written.
