As I am sure many of you know, this week is the debut of Season 2 of the Bridgerton TV show on Netflix. I am not sure how many of you have watched the show or if it has been something that has worked for you or not. Its not a perfect adaptation and they producers have definitely used a creative license on it that is for sure, but its delightful and it has beautiful imagery and I actually loved Season One even if it had its flaws and there were aspects that I didn’t quite enjoy. But as this upcoming weekend is my birthday, its actually a perfect gift and I know that I will be indulging in the show this week. I was intrigued in what they were doing with this season, from what I have seen in the trailer. But Below I want to share some recommendations for you all if you want some Bridgerton like titles to feed your regency love. The Viscount Who Loved Me is actually my favorite of the series if I had to choose so I hope they do this one justice.
When The Rogue Returns
This book was so incredible, and it definitely has some great regency/victorian era vibes that will work for many readers. What I found most interesting about these books was the setting and the found family feeling to the story. We also have some danger themes and espionage as a plus.
The Duchess Hunt
This story features some sexy scandal, a strong heroine, and a hero that has honor and loyalty. This has a forbidden love feel to this story but also unrequited love but a mix of a mystery combined.
How To Capture A Countess
This is one of my all time favorite regencies so I can’t recommend it enough. This is witty, full of sassy characters, laugh your head off bantering and a fun adventure. Highly recommend this if you need some fun regency romps.
The Dike’s Perfect Wife
oh this book is pure perfection. It features a second chance romance with some light kink in it. If you like your heroes alpha, than you can’t go wrong with this one and who can resist a hero who is a sexy scot in regency times.
Rules Of An Engagement
Now this book is the epitome of an entertaining ride. Enoch knew what she was doing in writing this beauty of a romance. There is such layers to this book, but is packed with fun adventures and witty banter to delight any reader.
The Husband List
This author is a must and her writing is similar to Julia Quinn in many respects. This story is so hilarious in its set up but also delivers in its storyline which will keep you hooked all the way through.
Wicked In Your Arms
Sophie Jordan is queen when it comes to certain stories and her backlisted regency/victorian era stories are a MUST for any Bridgerton lover. This has a forbidden love feel to this one, featuring a prince as our hero. This book kept me on my toes and delivered in all the feels.
I need to read the Bridgerton books. I haven’t read any of your recommendations either but I see a few authors that I have had luck with. I hope that you enjoy season 2!
I’m excited to start season 2! I should check some of these out. I don’t read much historical romance.
Yay! I have a few more books to add to my TBR! Thank you! I’ve watched season 2 of Bridgerton and no spoilers I promise! I will just say that after season 1 I had high hopes and it didn’t quite meet those hopes…
Oh yes I feel the same way about Bridgerton season 2 as well. It was hugely disappointing. They just took out the heart and soul of that book.
Yay! A few new books to add to me TBR!
